I'd say posting pix here is safe as long as you upload to the site. Don't post pix externally and provide links because the external links may be able to be tracked back to you. But, yeah, ditto on the fact that feds and cops really don't care about wasting time, money and resources to bust someone with a small grow. Still, you should be careful about what's showing in your pix and what info you post because you have to remember, these are public forums. Your mom, friend, teacher or boss could somehow stumble on this site somehow and if you show/tell too much, it'll be easy to figure out. So use a certain amount of precaution when posting. :) Welcome, and I can't wait to see the Blue Mystic!

Pics are basically safe, but be carefull not to take a pic of yourself or with mail in the backround showing your address.

Some of the "Cowboy Cops" here in Denver are trying to make themselves a little database of "suspects" in the field of MMJ. So even if you are legal, don't temt these butt heads.

As long as you don't take pics of yourself, your addy, or put out info on you phone number or addy or name, you should be fine.

As long as you're not in Iran or Russia or something. lol

actually, there is something called, "meta data." here is a few words on the subject.

Metadata in JPEG Files

The JPEG file format is the format most used for storing and transmitting photographs on the Internet. In addition, a large number of digital cameras store pictures as JPEG files. However, many users are likely to be unfamiliar with the fact that a JPEG file can contain other data besides the actual photograph.

The JPEG file format allows it to embed additional information called "metadata" in the file header. (Other image file formats can contain metadata, too.) The purpose of these metadata is to provide additional and useful information along with the picture. Image manipulation programs and especially digital cameras take advantage of this feature.

Metadata can be embedded in different ways. A common way is to store them according to the Exif specification, which has been created by the Japan Electronic Industry Development Association (JEIDA). Other popular specifications are the IPTC headers defined by the International Press Telecommunications Council (IPTC) and XMP developed by Adobe Systems. More detailed information about these metadata formats as well as descriptions of other metadata formats can be found on ExifTool's Tag Names page.

Among other things, the metadata section of a file can contain information about:

* make and model of the digital camera
* time and date the picture was taken
* distance the camera was focused at
* location information (GPS) where the picture was taken
* small preview image (thumbnail) of the picture
* firmware version, serial numbers, name and version of the image manipulation program, etc. ...

This is ignorance. IF they want you they will come and get you.
Always be careful fuckin around on public forums.
I think being in a bigger city does help though........(any city that wants pot , wants you too)
I think it also depends on who you are. If you have a "big name" then they are already lookin for things like this for future references , if you have a normal name (not wanted, not ex-wanted, legal, ect..)
then you should be fine :joint:
Welcome to the growing world :weed:

I worry about IP trace..........if they traced your IP and saw it was from an area that it's illegal to grow in they may do a little footwork. Can they get your IP from RIU? Do they need to get it from RIU? I don't know either way so I just don't post from a pc near my grow.

Its called ultrasurf. Look into proxy servers which MASK ur IP. Regardless if they want u they will get u. Just be "Normal" LOL low profile. MAC address is what really maters these days not really IP's. You can be in a hotspot using a random IP so that dont matter. Message an admin if ur that worried about IP addresses. IF you use a Local area network at home u should be fine. I would use a proxy server Regardless. My saying is there are never enough layers to security!!!!

Damn zombie threads! seriously though, you should be more worried about metadata than RIU handing over your ip address
