*What I have is a White Widow approx 2' tall quite bushy with about 4 full tiers of fan leaves and many shoots. Grown from feminized seed. The shoots themselves look healthy but some of my middle and top fan leaves are exhibiting symptoms of either K deficiency or nutrient burn but I am not sure which. The reason I am not sure is because I was in the hospital for a month and trusted friend made sure to water. (Dont worry about someone else knowing this person would never tell as he would have as much to lose as myself.) The problem is my grow room contained various concentrations of 12-4-8 liquid nutient solutions and my friend cannot seem to tell me exactly how much nutrients he used and how often. (I think hes trying to avoid me blaming him even though I wouldnt I just need to know so I can fix it.)

Some of the middle and top leaves are drying out around the edges and tips turning yellow then brown (starting at the tips and moving around the edges). At the top the new growth is just begging to be affected at the very tips. A couple of the very first leaves towards the very bottom of the plant rolled up and died but I understand this is natural.I considered light burn as my friend told me he had sprayed the leaves with my mister but that would have affected the top growth more, besides I use florescents almost no direct heat contact. (1-2'' above plant top and no burn there)The room is 65 at night (darktime) and ~80 day (lighttime) on a 16-8 cycle. ~25-30 humidity. Otherwise the plant looks fairly healthy.

I have been reading all the forum posts I can and its simple due to my lack of knowledge of what happened over the month I was in the hospital (coma) so I couldnt instruct my buddy on exactly what to do and getting straight answer is hard when someone is afraid of being blamed.

  • [*=1]Right now I am considering whether to leech the soil in the tub with purified water (I have a large bin I let stand for several days, plus my tap is mountain stream)
[*=1]To repot my plant into a new container with fresh soil (If I did that should I rinse the rootball?)
[*=1]My last resort would be to snag as many clones as I could and just eat the time I invested. (Not a total loss I learned alot already and they would be some strong clones)

I dont know if I will be able to post pics today since my buddy hasnt answered his phone all day and he has my camera and usb hookups. If anyone knows which is the safer course regardless of nut burn or K def please let me know whether its safer to leech the soil or just repot the girl. I am still going to try to get pics up ASAP but I dont want to wait too long to take some action here. From what I read if I dont get some input by the start of tomarrow's light cycle which is in 11hrs from the time of this post I am just going to leech the soil in a tub with the clean standing water I have.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Bad quality I know but its the best I could do at the moment I will get higher resolution when I am able.

The full info is in my original post but to summarize I am losing the edges of most of my large fan leaves to browning and drying out, I am not sure whether potassium deficiency, nutrient burn or maybe something I am not aware of.

I am just wondering what the best action to take is, leech the soil repot the girl or just leave it alone and hope clean non-nut water will let her recover over time. Once again thank you very much for any help you can offer and I will get high res pictures ASAP.

If you have trouble uploading a pic try the "Go Advanced" posting and upload from your computer
As for your plants they burnt 3rd degree don't feed any more any nutes what type of dirt and nutes are you using
the new growth looks great but the older leaves are burnt pretty good not just the tips but again I
stress the new growth looks good maybe give'em just water 2 or 3 times I don't like to flush out
real good all at once cause that causes other problems you should state the type of dirt and nutes
you have fed and the amount of nutes and how often but again the new growth looks great~

Yes I was just trying to figure out the picture upload thing and I got a handle on it now so future posts will be done through the sites album.

Anyways my friend just came over and I got him to tell me how much nutrients he used, he put 30ml 12-4-8 miracle grow liquid nutrients in 2quarts of water, and watered with that 2x over the course of a month.

(Using miracle grow soil anyways with the time release nutrients) When I found how much he put in my eyes O_O so yea no doubt nut burn. Just going to use water for the next month most likely to avoid any further burn.

Thanks for the help =D
