That's not what I meant. There was a video posted of subcool's garden in which the guys talked about having to defoliate because of bud rot. That to me is a legitimate reason to take leaves off, by that I mean if your having problems with humidity. But taking off leaves for the sake of taking off leaves is not a wise thing to do. IMHO. Biologically your doing nothing beneficial for the plant. The purpose or goal of a cannabis plant is to spread its seeds to proliferate, in the process if shedding leaves were to help it in that process it would do it on its own. It will do this when it suffers from malnutrition and begins to eat away at its energy stores, aka fan leaves, to ensure the flowers have the best chance of seeding. Then the fan leaves wilt and die off. You taking the fan leaves off is not tricking the plant into doing anything different that what its programmed to do. Your just cutting its chances for collecting light.
I say the story you posted is anecdotal because its just that. It's someones opinion. There was no side by side comparison, no total weight or chemistry analysis.
