Portable AC

Using a 4 x 4 x 7 ft insulated grow box, what would be some of the pros and cons of squeezing in a small scale portable AC unit with dehumidifying controls? The unit would need to be less than 13 inches in depth to fit in the box. I have an exhaust fan hooked to a filter creating a negative air pressure in the room. The inlet is a 6 inch duct tied to a duct booster sucking air from central AC and delivering it into the box and down to the butt end of my lamp... the air gets sucked through the AC tapped line through the exhaust fan hooked to the filter.

Would I need to run a separate exhaust for the portable AC? Are there harmful elements the Portable AC would introduce? Any help appreciated greatly.

It is sealed. But the fluctuations are too high imo....getting 66F low and 81 F high....if i can take that high down to 70 ish and control the humidity im thinking it might be worth the investment .... am I wrong?

Your temps aren't really that far off. I would add c02 to take advantage of the low 80 temp. You are better off getting a dehumidifier when lights go off. I use an ac and a dehumidifier. Keep the ac on 24-7 and kick the dehumidifier on when lights go off.

I think you should save yourself the money and keep it running the way it is. If you think about it, that is a tropical weather pattern which cannabis thrives. Unless there are other details I am missing, you are fine.

I grow outside as well as indoors. If you think that fluctuation is bad, you should see some of the noon temps vs midnight temps here! I wouldn't worry about that fluctuation at all. AC units are a huge power-pit though. Use those watts for more lights, or more co2!

It is my understanding that the origins of cannabis is in high altitude desert (afghan)... i guess that is the enviro i am shooting for
