Portable AC (Not Swamp cooler!) For Small 8'x10' Room

Can anyone suggest a decent floor type A/C for a small 8'x10' room?

I can't get a window A/C unit because I've got a board in my window with sealed vent holes to route all of the exhaust from my tent outside so there's just no where to mount it in a window).

I have central A/C in my house but even with it going full bore my room still gets sweltering hot where it was almost 90F in the tent today with lights off (in the tent, but I have a 140w LED right next to the tent where my mother plants/future vegging plants reside, a pc that generates heat and its all in a small room), outside temp was like 95F today.

Swamp coolers are garbage, they just pump moist air into the room, so I was hoping someone might know if a decent floor model A/C for a small room like this. I've got a space in the windows ventilation frame to put out the exhaust from these floor units, just don't know if a good one, specifically to fit the cooling needs of such a small space).

I'm willing to spend like $300-$450 CAD

My answer would be lock yourself in the 90 degree room until you are able to make the window unit ac idea workable. Portables suck and your exhaust can be routed out through the same enclosure as the window ac unit. Make that work and you have a killer setup and less stress. The bigger the better.

Have you tried shutting down some of the other ac vents to help force more air into the affected room? If it has windows I would use blackout curtains. I wouldn't use a wall banger or portable as they suck juice at 120V. Prob need to save money to up the budget more. If this room is a long term grow room you could look into installing a PTAC unit. It would require some construction as well. I wont mention anything about evap coolers since it seems you are dead set against them already.

If you get a portable, make sure it's one with an air exhaust, or you will be constantly dumping the reservoir bucket. I used to have a deLonghi portable when I lived in an apartment and it cooled very well. Your budget is just a tad low; if you have a Costco membership (or have a friend who does), they have a deLonghi 6500 BTU portable w/ exhaust hose for $499.

yep, we have the same one. we've had our delonghi for like 5 years now for our bedroom: works great.

Portables are junk for growing, they barely work to cool rooms without grow lights. Plus they pump smell outside way worse than a window unit. If your not running many watts you could make it work, but you should be able to use a window unit and have enough room to vent on each side of it where the little sliders would normally go.
