make sure your getting eastern sun/morning sun on your porch also, and not just mid day sun...


also your seeds might be total shit....


also you might have a bad attitude and the plants are negatively affected by it......

you should chill out brah trust me plants always do better when you send positive vibes to them, you must be sending them bad vibes

no rly, they only get morning sun. and they are outside by 7am. hopefully within a few weeks they will be hardened off enough to stay out over night.

if you cant find a spot to put them with a lot of sun in the afternoon, it might be worth it to move them in the afternoon to a different spot with adequate sunlight

ok..... so stretching is bad? ok.....most of my plants look like that... i gotta old piece of property im growing in now. its inside but alot of windows are up with alot of sunlight on the 3rd floor... should i also plant my plants up to the leaves also

Can Neighbors see your porch? If not, you could put a few CFLs really close to them as well to supplement.

pictures before transplanting and after.

i chose 25 of the best ones, i had more than i wanted to take care of, so i gave the runts away.

im using promix with a mixture of soil from a local greenhouse, they produce their own, and its great. its all sterile, and properly balanced. It contains sand, peat, vermiculite, perlite, osmocote (very little), and other dashes of chemicals to balance the ph.

they were watered in well, i will prolly have to wait a couple days for the next watering.

the temperature has risen so they can stay out all night, they have already shown improvement being out over night the last two nights.

as you can see they were planted deep, i probably coulda planted even deeper, or pulled the seed leaves off all of them. but im trying to be least invasive as i can.

it appears that all came through transplanting fine, with little to no signs of shock on any of them.

im trying to decide if im gonna make the investment for nutes, or just get some more osmocote, and maybe something high in nitrogen for flowering.

also looking for advice on a rotation pattern, something simple, but enough rotation that they are getting turned, and switched rows occasionally.

im learning more and more on this site, and im confident the porch will have a succesful harvest!

they were buried, but when i watered in, they soil sank. i filled in with the rest of the dirt i had, but it still settled.

thats the pro-mix, the stuff displaces and sucks up so much water. when i get a little more soil i will prolly go in and top off the pots.

even if you have to coil the stem and roots so you can fit them it wont hurt them i have done it many times. I even put a few slits in the stem and then give them root stimulant for a week or so and the grow roots right fast, all over.

yeah im pretty much treating them like tomatoes which do the same thing, you can bury as deep as you want as long as there is a growing tip.

il try pulling sucker leaves and planting em super deep sometime as an experiment.

i do plan on topping these, i dont want them much more than 24 to 30 inches tall.

how many nodes high would you folks recommend when i cut the tops? im looking for short and bushy plants.

I think you should invest in a compact florescent light bulb.And one more tip would be to increase your vegetative formula.The best thing you could do is start over and leave them under the light for like 17 hours a day.just some helpful advice.....
