This recently happened to me. This is not advice, just what my experience was and how I dealt with it. I was 6-7 weeks in and after posting here with a few days of contemplating I chopped. Result was about 60 dark seeds. Well the seeds terminated and grew and the smoke was weak at best, but still smoke. When an onion goes to seed I get a smaller onion but the plant gave me seeds and some fruit. Maybe look at plants as "givers". Some give fruit, some seeds and some give both. Looking thru this lens any plant that completed its "cycle" is a success. All in all it was a great experience with an overall greater experience base to build my gardening skills. I am an avid outdoor junior, I dare say, farmer with a brown thumb. Focus on the positives here and keep keepin on. Hopefully helpful. TC
