Poll: to water or not to water?

So in multiple threads I've posted with these plants I've been told I over water; under water and water to much.
They are 6 inch pots and for the last two weeks I've been watering them about 2/3rds a cup of water every 3 or 4 days.
I was told by several members to water them with 1/4th cup of water every 3 days
Several other members told me to water them until there is approximately 20% run off and then wait till the plants are damn near wilted before I water them again.
Some have told me to feed them others have said they are too young.
What's your opinion?

Water until minimal runoff at this stage, you will just be leaching nutrients from the soil.
When feeding, ph 6.5, water til the 20% ( just a number, just feed until you get decent runoff.)
They are not ready( or shouldn't be) for feeding yet, but that is judged off medium and plant size.

You cannot go off set amounts , they will all drink differently usually. Follow simple watering techniques, don't overcomplicate things for yourself.

Thankyou for your opinion sir. Not trying to start arguments here, just want everyone's opinion so I can make a informed decision based on lots of experienced peoples data.
This is the best site on the planet by far. More info and help then anyone trying to grow could ever ask for.
If we open lines of discussion we can all gain from each others knowledge ..

Are you using coco or soil your op suggests methods for the two?
I'm assuming it's coco when they are small I only soak around the stem and let the nutrient work its way out by capillary, when I get roots out of the bottom of the pot I soak more then fully soak it around 2 weeks, I get relatively hassle free growing with that.
If it's soil i can't help.

Feed them, which still includes watering them, as they're plenty old enough.
They are starting to form visible nutrient deficiencies, and a PH issues will follow shortly thereafter, if you don't act fast.
So don't walk to your grow room, run, and feed them.

Seems to me you got answer's for different stages of growth.


Where those are at. If in soil Water to runoff and wait to dry out. Rinse and repeat.

If its coco I cant help lol

Nope. Soil miracle grow organic with 35% perlite. Only soil I could find at thentimeb that didn't have time release fertilizer in it.

So I watered them last night with half strength 20-13-10. I used one gallon of water between all of them. The 600w mh is 24" above them. This is how they look 24 hours later

Will take some time...ensure all new growth is gtg.

My opinion.

Check on em once a day, Water when their leaves are drooping..... otherwise leave em alone. It depends on temp and light intensity as well.

Keep a log, it will become predictable in short order.

Also my opinion, make the switch to fabric pots when you transplant and use trays to bottom water.

Judging by pic's I'd guess about 1 cup of water once a week. No nutes yet, or if you do just use general plant food and half recommended dilution.

I feeding this one 8 cups of water daily atm, for example. I have 2 others same size taking 8 cups every 3 days, so it depends on the plant, the temp, the light, how well its roots are developed, its fresh air supply, and also how often you disturb it... yup they hate daily disturbing.

With the amount of perlite in those pots you could water until the bottom of the pot was flooded and it would be fine. lol probably literally.

Ok so we are now at 48 hours since I water/fed them. Are they looking any better? I have removed most of the dead leaves at this point.

They look better judging by the newer upper growth. Nice and perky and no heavy yellowing.

You haven't answered if your PHing your feed water yet, or what PH it is if you are phing it? This could just be a PH issue. I had a friend with similar plants who just started growing in a tent and his plants literally stayed this small for like 3 weeks, he found out his waters PH from his tap was like 8 PH. Changed his PH to 6.5 and the plants literally grew overnight a few inches.
