Every cop car should be it's own satellite with a 360 degree camera on it and a Tony Stark like earphones. Have multiple cams on the on duty officer (maybe on belt) and tie them back to someone working back at the base that can make sure they always have support and don't have to do any paperwork (because its all filming and the person at base can have it all done.
ooh, that would be a cool use of this belt too:
They could help navigate the person on duty and show them were the direction of danger/escape routes is in tense situations.

The dog must have realized that it was messed up that they were attacking that guy and wanted no part of doing more harm even though the cop was stuffing the dogs face towards the guy.
