I have a Powdery Mildew problem... had it first 2 weeks into flowering and treated with stuff the guy at hydro store told me was systemic so to spray early as possible (something that came in the same bottle as this http://www.justhydro.com/Pest-&-Disease-Control-Fungicide-(Powdery-Mildew,-etc)/c11_139/p5229/Eagle-20-EW-Pint-Specialty-Fungicide/product_info.html ). Now its back and I have about two weeks left to flower. Its not hardcore but a lot of nugs and leaves are starting to get it again. I have an organic fungicide(SaferGro Mildew Cure) I could spray which holds it back a bit with continued spraying... OR could I dip the buds in this organic stuff before drying? Maybe put a drop of soap in the solution so it sticks to the buds better when I dip them in the organic fungicide? Or is dipping nugs in organic fungicide horrible..?

I never had problems with bud rot but with how it spreads I feel like it will take over in the curing jars if I dont completely take car of it now...

wow, do you spray your plants thats not exactly the way to go about things it can screw the plant up as it can absorb the spray and you have a risk of moldy buds, you have to find a better way to approach this problem thats more organic

Heres some options..
So if theres two weeks left you may want to shave a couple days off there. Pics would help.
You can defoliate the plant of any badly affected areas. Thats what id do pronto. The fans are blowing the stuff all over the place and itll spread if theres spores visible on leaves. Save the good leaves and spray them.
You can talk to your hydro store guys and see if they can recommend a good wash for washing the residue off from the organic and hopefully entirely safe to smoke fungicide. Call the company, see if its ok to smoke it?
Goerge has a youtube video of him showing how to wash the branches in a weak hydrogen peroxide solution i believe.
A combination of one or all of these things is what id do.
Just remember, anything in the bag is better than nothing in the bag so dont be afraid to pull the plug if things start really getting outta control.
Good luck man.

I have heard of some people washing their buds in a agricultural hydrogen peroxide to remove PM, but I have never done that.

I beat back a little PM in flowering with a daily spraying, rotating through Actinovate, Green Cure, and diluted H2O2, all organic safe. Dilution rates for H2O2 taken from this site:

http://www.using-hydrogen-peroxide.com/gardening-with-hydrogen-peroxide.html

Once you got it you have to stay on top of it, don't trust any one product to take care of it. Also, don't let too much H2O2 drip in your dirt if you are organic.

Do that,
Then this.
Is it me, or does cervantes talk like we are all 5?

BTW OP, I wash my buds no matter what. Try it at least once, on just one branch if you are scared next harvest. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/harvest-preparation-curing/200881-bud-washing.html
Just requires H202, lemon juice, and baking soda. I've found it can even wash dog hair off. Or spider-mite webs, and at least 95% the mites and eggs still on leaves after harvest. No skin cells, dust, or whatever. And I love the end result. No trich damage. :)

Peroxide and water will kill it on contact. Ride it out, and keep on it with the spraying. After this harvest I would bleach or peroxide your entire grow: fans, lights, cracks, tools etc. and let it air out for a few days. Keep you environment on the dry side:dehumidifier, extra fans, proper ventilation, maybe less water

Big pain in the ass to do that.

Google "Horse Tail Tea" (herbal tea) Buy in bulk and brew as directed. When cool, fill a spray bottle and use it all over the plant, the soil, and the pot. ORGANIC, can be used up until day of harvest. Plants LIKE it!

Spray down your WHOLE grow to get the spores not on the plant.

My personal advice was just for after harvest lol.
But this organic fungicide seems legit lol. Wouldn't not use if someone I knew gave it to me. Good advice.
But yeah, (organic) fungicides like that are a great thing to add to the plantcare and maintenance routine. All part of proper pro-active pest control.

Thanks everyone. I think Im going to try to wash half of each plant to see how it fairs and if pm grows in the containers then wash the remaining material.

I saw a couple other videos and one said to follow up the spray I had w/ Silica blast because it has an high as hell ph(around 12 or so) and will make it so the spores can't grow on the leaves. I heard this was a way to eliminate the problem? However you have to know what to leave out of your feeding or you will overnute...

If I'm using the complete General Hydroponics "expert recirculating" formula what should I consider leaving out when using Silica Blast, at any stage of growth for pm, if its a good idea? For this last / 12th week, should I give it silica blast and FloraKleen or just do FloraKleen then cut / wash / dry / cure..?

Fine, don't listen to the redneck... :finger:

Just kidding, lol. But yeah, I'm serious. Milk. $3 a gallon, completely safe and organic, when diluted leaves no residue, smell, or taste, and doesn't come with a poison label.

And did I mention it's good with cereal?
