Please Validate My Diagnosis

get some soil that is for propagation/seeding, those mixes don't contain extra nutes and a pre-mixed with perlite or something similar. they aren't the cheapest choice but great for growing if you not happen to grow an army of plants.
and i still think that this remaining m-shit is the troubles cause here, that some no-brand standard soil causes this would be a bit odd since they may not drain well as perlite mixes but as long the don't contain added nutes they are fine to grow with half-ways decent if you mind watering.

Alright guys, I'm going to take your advice and swap out the soil and see what happens. Still no significant growth since last Wednesday (6 days -- eek), and based on replies here and my own research outside of this forum I'm convinced that this organic soil I purchased has too much wood chip shit in it and is slowing growth. I'm going to find a nice topsoil/verm/perl mixture and go with that, and this will give me the opportunity to remove the MG soil (or at least get rid of as much of the time-release nutes as possible). I'll keep you posted on the results.

I have some tiny plants (1 or 2 mini fan leaf sets only) -- are these worth bothering with at this point? I'm afraid they are too young to be transplanting (again).

UPDATE

Purchased a soil mix called Fafard 3b from a nursery I found today. The lady there was very helpful and said this was a nice soil with good drainage. It's not as clumpy as the last stuff I bought and has no wood and bark in it like the organic soil I used last time.

Pulled each of the 8 plants up and soaked them in water for a bit. I was careful but did lose some roots in the process. I noticed that the original soil before the last transplant was tightly packed around the roots and this might explain the drooping and lack of growth I was experiencing. I was careful to not pack the new soil at all this time and ran my fingers thru it to make sure it was as loose as possible. I also got as much of the old soil off the roots as possible and made sure to remove all time release nute balls I could find.

I wasn't sure how to best put the roots back into soil after the soak. They seemed like they would be hard to spread out, so I just kinda fed them down into the soil and added new soil around them. Filled up the pots the rest of the way and added some water that I added a bit of SUPERThrive to.

So... we'll see what happens I guess.

You did good, now wait, be patient, and water them only when the soil is dry in top inch.

Welp, I'm on the road to recovery. Check out the before and after pics. Notice the burns on the lower leaves -- this is either from the MG soil before I cleaned it all out, or possibly from the SUPERThrive. Anyhow, I ain't worried about that so much -- the rest of the plant is a richer green than even before the transplant and the secondary growth is getting bigger every day!

Glad to hear it wbd, now make sure you water them correctly by feeling the weight of the pot and NOT just going by how dry the top soil surface is!

Roger that. I've got to be real careful I know cuz those pots are too big for the plants -- a mistake I can't fix at this point. The soil stays moist forever!
