Please tell me these aren’t balls.

It looks like it could be leaves. From that image I don't see alternating phyllotaxy (branches) cannabis doesn't usually show sex until branches begin to alternate. But watch those sites.
 
This one ended up being male. What you can do is give it a 12/12 light cycle for a couple weeks and if it doesn't shoot out pistols and those growths continue to just get bigger then its a male for sure.

The difference I've noticed, is when you look at that part of the part that bulges a little at the nodes. If its male, typically it'll have those littles growths like yours have on the part that's actually on that bulging part itself. If its a female, those little growths won't grow at all. Instead it'll shoot a pistol out of it. I'll take another photo today cause I have dome that are still in preflower.
