Can anyone point me in a good direction for learning how to breed my own autoflower seeds? Is it as simple as reversing one and using that pollen on a different female?
I used STS to make some Mazarilla fem auto seeds that I'm cropping the last of the beans out tonight.

Went in to check the plants in the veg tent tonight and look what I found. Haven't really looked at those two for a few days and a fallen seed is on it's way. I'll pick out the ripe seeds then chop the buds and toss them in a paper bag to dry so I can bust up the buds and get any I missed. Could be some on the pollen donor plant in it's paper bag too. Least I know my seeds should work. :)

I'll just cut the stem down low and keep in that pot to grow in the veg tent. When it's flowering good I'll hit it with STS for pollen and make fem seeds on the the same plants I'll grow outside this summer. The breeder would like 50 - 100 of the F2s I'll be making. Should be a fun seed swap.

Do a search on here for STS or colloidal silver and you should find lots of examples of how people are doing this. I might have a text file from explaining to someone else but my dance card is full up tonight so if I can find it I'll post it for you tomorrow.

Completely not true. Shitty growers = shitty plants. Cost of a seed isn't proportional to the quality of the plant.
truer words have never been spoken. Got mates paying $15-$25 for a single mephisto seed depending on quantity to pull 2 ounce a plant due to grower issues. Meanwhile I'm paying $1.50 a seed to $2.25 a seed and pulling two-three times that per plant and i've still made many, many a mistake and provided inadequate environmental control.

"But iLlUmInAuTo sounds straight grease blaze bruh" as vape clouds intensify.

I have to say one thing mesphito have going for them is minimal pheno variation. Their plants are spot on to the description as it should be.

All the other auto breeders I’ve tried have a lot more pheno variations in their line ups which accounts for a lot since you can’t effectively clone autoflowers

Urban Legends makes some nice fem autos. I shared an auction pack with a buddy from another forum and just kept extra Mazarilla and he took the single seed packs. Grew a couple outside and 3 inside to resex one and tonight harvesting the last of the F1 fem seeds from the two that got pollen. Not sure how mould resistant they are but we had a damp and cold last 3 weeks before I chopped the two I grew outside and no mould anywhere. Snowed 3 days later.

Fan leaves removed the day before the chop on Sept. 11. Middle one an unrelated CBD auto.

They are the best outdoor autos I've seen. I always end up with small autos outside. The location and shading probably didn't help.

I think the best I've got outdoors with an auto is 50g solid and 18g fluff lol. Indoors I've pulled just over 6 ounces solid and 1.3oz fluff.

I'm so small scale I never run more than a single plant from each strain so I'm too lame to worry about consistency so far lol. I think my fuckups will negate any consistency.

Aye, I like trying a new strain every grow. Trouble is when I find one I really like the next time I grow it’s never quite as good as the first one I grew.

Strawberry pie by fastbuds is stable, delicious and potent. Would recommend if u haven’t tried it :)

Thanks man! that makes sense it is pretty much the same as you would with any other genotype you just reverse one auto and pollinate another and offspring should all be fem autos?
Or If I get a male auto I can just make regs?

That's right. I sprouted 3 and was sprayed the hell out of one until it sprouted balls and was going to use the pollen on new plants later but there was still nice fresh hairs on the other two so dusted some lower buds and so far got 20 seeds from one and 14 from the other. Put them back to ripen immature ones then last night was going to pluck ripe ones to find they were full of thrips. Now I know why I haven't been able to get rid of them on my clones. Just bagged them up in paper bags now to dry out then I'll get the rest of the seeds.

If you get a male you can for sure make auto regular seeds. The male autos I've grown start popping out flowers earlier than the girls so you should be able to plant some seeds then use any males on any girls that show to get seeds from the same crop. I'm using cuts from friends to make fem seeds of the same strains so don't have any males to work with. All I used in my pollen chucking the last 20 years were regular photoperiod plants and an early strain of autos many years back that sucked.

You can collect pollen from just a branch from a male that you cut off and stick in a glass of water so it droops over a sheet of tinfoil, shiny side up, with a small light on 12/12 in a closet somewhere. Or in a cardboard box on a shelf out of the way. No fans and you can toss the male so he doesn't pollinate every flower on your plants unless you want to mass-pollinate. When you have pollen you can take a girl out of the grow room, put a garbage bag over most of the plant and just leave a lower branch poking out and dust the buds on it. Then the rest of the plant buds normally and if it's ready to crop before the seeds are ripe then harvest the rest and keep the seeded branch on until they are ripe.

I don't know if I mentioned it to you but you can get grow books and books on breeding pot etc at pdfdrive.com. Just do a search for cannabis and tons pop up for free downloading in 3 different formats. I get the .pdf ones myself.

Thanks for the knowledge bro, I really appreciate the help. I'll be sre to share any progress as my autoflower journey goes on here on rollitup. It will be fun to get back into outdoors after being so beaten down season after season with budworms. Someone here mentioned a screen net around the grow area which I will be implementing this year. Lots to do, and very excited for this season, inside and out!

Bud worms are little caterpillars I believe so you want to keep those little white butterflies, which are really a moth, away from your plants. They love broccoli and cauliflower too. BTK bacterial spray will kill them as they hatch and begin to feed so before they begin to flower and even after before the buds get all bunched together you can spray that stuff and hose it off later.

I found these on just one leaf and after looking it up found it's eggs from one of those. Keeping a close eye on everything as the plants grow helps catch shit like this before it becomes a problem. Lift those leaves and have a look underneath!

I got everything into pots and the propagation chamber this morning.

Big shout out to @Inkbird

With the dual heat mat controller I can control the settings wirelessly and have been having a much better seedling game

Last germ I went 12/13 successfull seeds this time I'm hoping for 6 out of 6

I also have colloidal silver coming in the mail. Not sure which plant take pollen from I also have an auto lemon haze going in my other tent20220518_065652.jpg

Yeah I agree .I've been growing urban legend autos for a few years. All solid auto strains. My fave is gorilla auto usually gets around 6 foot tall in 77 days. Skunkist is a nice guy as well

I go seed stockersnfrom herbies. BCN critical XXL auto 5 pack for $8. Northern lights, big bud and AK420 autos $11 a 5pack. , super skunk, blackberry gum and amnesia autos $14 per 5. Oh Kush autos $16 for 5.

I can't stand some of these $10-15 seeds. That's just ludicrous.

I've had good luck with AK 420 autos. Mix of Columbian, Mexican and Thai sativa with Afghan indica. Filled a 2x4 with a single plant.

This is lemon haze auto inside that I am treating one branch with sts and plan to use that pollen on itself and the auto's outside. If I do like doing the auto's outside there's no way I'm paying 10 a seed lol
