Have these bugs of unknown origin. Here the background: organic, SIP, no-till soil (first run soil) 10 gal fabric pots. Day 46 since the flip, OG kush, COB LEDs grow.
They first appeared about a month ago as I noticed something scraping chlorophyll from upper leaves. There is just few of them in 2x4 tent, they are easy to see with naked eye even from foot away. They look like brown dot on the leaf surface. If I squish them they leave brown spot of fluid some sort almost like iodine.
If you start getting closer they quickly retrieve under the leaf. But if I look under the leaves I can't see any of them, none. Also, leaves only damaged on upper surface, nothing under. I never seen any eggs either. No webbing whatsoever. I can only see 5-8 of them but the damage they leave behind is permanent and slowly spreading
What is also interesting is the fact that they only feeding on leaves around the perimeter, no damage on inside of the grow. I'm so puzzled. It's almost like they use tent walls to reach they feeding sites.
At first when I saw them I panicked and started researching spider mites but these bugs appear to be much larger and no webbing. If these were spider mites I would be infested in no time.
I also released 1000 Mighty Mites (P. Persimillis) and 1000 Hot Mites (N. Fallacis) couple days ago on infected folliage but seeing the difference in size of my predators and these bugs I'm now thinking it was waste of money. These bugs probably 5 times larger than predators I released and they don't seems to be bothered.
I tried to search the internet but only come across of spider mites.
