Also try and rotivate the top 1-2cm of soil, when it gets saturated like that if forms like a soil crusty layer that stops the moisture leaving through the top of the pot. Just move the surface soil round daily. Let it breath. When it dries properly, oxygen enters the soil and the roots love it!

Keep it wet and your plants is on the road to destruction!

Even then, after it wilts, just give it like a tea cup full, then same again 2 days later. I always vary the amounts I water, but 1 in 3 watering/feeds I will get 10% run off. 10% of the pot size that is.
