Alright, first I want to apologize, I have no pictures. The camera on my phone doesn't work well under the HPS. I will do my best to give a detailed description though.

A little history on the plants: Right now they are on their 6th week of veg. I have them under a 400w HPS on a 18/6. The light is about 36" for the tops of the plants. The PH is between 5.8-6.5 which I have been told is ideal for growing in soil. I water them 2xs a day and have been a little nervous about the nutrient feeding...I don't want to over do it. I started feeding them in their 3rd week and have fed them 3xs since then.

About 3 or 4 days ago I stared seeing the tips of the leaves on one of my plants started to turn light green. It gradually moved it's way down the sides of the leaves and then turned yellow. The leaves are also starting to turn inward. The whole leaf isn't yellow, just the jagged parts of the leaves. I have also started seeing some of the inside growth wilt. Thinking it may be a nute problem, I have been flushing for the last two days and no improvement. The other 2 plants seem to be doing quite well, but this one has got me a little nervous. Growth has not slowed on this plant though. I'm getting ready to switch them to the budding stage, but would like to have this problem figured out before I do so. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated

You're overwatering. Plants in soil do not need to be watered multiple times a day. The soil holds enough water in it for the plant to go days without needing more. If you keep it in constantly saturated soil, you'll drown the roots and your plant will begin to look bad.

Also, your 400 HPS can be a lot closer than 36" unless you're trying to illuminate 20 sqf. Get it down to 18" or so if you can.

Alright I added 3 pics, but like I said my camera phone is shit under the HPS. I don't mean to question your advice, but are you positive that it's over watering?? The only reason I ask, is because I check about 6 cm down to make sure that it's dry before I water. This is my second grow and I learned the hard way about overwatering.

The light was closer, but when I saw the tips starting to yellow, I thought it may be heat stress, but now not so much because it's getting worse day by day.
Thanks again!!

Wondering what the temperature is in your grow room. Although it sounds like your overwatering that does not seem to be the issue. Remember its better to water completely every few days then to water a few times a day.

You mention you are fearful of using nutes. Are you using any? What type of soil. The reason I am asking is that it looks alittle like nitrogen deficency. Not sure but I feel its diffently a nute issue.

im with reeny on this.. seems like they are nitrogen hungry IMHO.. why are you fearful about using nutes?? afraid of over feeding them?? if thats the case start with a 1/4 strength solution of nutes when you water... see how your plants react to it... add a little more to the solution every time you water to bring the solution up in strength... most nute shock comes from over feeding younger plants... mostly it seems that people feed their babies full strength nutes and wonder why they are dieing or burnt all to hell.. if you start with a low dosage and add to it it will help "harden" your plants to the nutes by slowly introducing them to the plant...

Hey thanks everyone!! I appreciate all your input.

Like I said this is my second grow and my first one went to shit on me. I over watered and over fed those plants, so I vowed to myself that I would be extra careful this time around. So yeah you could say that I am afraid to over feed them.

I plan on switching them to 12/12 on Monday, but in the meantime I have switched to watering them signifcantly once a day. When I do switch, what is a good nutrient solution to look for??

Oh and to answer the questions above, the temp. in the room is consistantly between 78-88 and I am using 50% Miracle Grow potting mix and 50% Perlite

One more question. How should the feeding schedule work?? Should I feed them everytime I water?? Every other time?? Thanks again!!
