my plants outside? This is my 1st indoor/outdoor grow. I have 17 plants all in the W.W. family, theyre all almost 2' tall and have been Veggin for about 6 weeks. I have them under 2 - 1000W MH's right now. Theyre all in 5 gallon buckets and I can see the roots in the drain holes. Theyre growin 2-3 inches a day and I dont want to stunt them from root bind. Should I wait till 9 weeks and/or should they be a certain height before puttin them outside? I live in the N.E. US and the weather is def nice enough. Also, is there anything "special" I need to know besides the obvious outdoor things? Thanx in advance.

their beyond ready. i start em under cfls in 1/2 of a 20oz styrofoam cup and add soil up her stem as she reaches for the light, then transplant to a 40oz styrofoam cup, then transplant into Smart Pots at 1ft and out the door they go.

Thanx bro. I went from 5" Jiffy pots to 1gl plastics then to the 5gl plastics. Ill def. keep ur method in mind for next time & and Ill check out that link. Im goin to my friends house Saturday to figuire out where their gonna go & dig the holes.Then go back Sun. to plant em. Im putting 6 on his land & 6 on my other boys land. Then Im gonna keep 5 indoors to practice for the winter time. This is my 1st grow & I have a few more ?'s. If u can help me out Id really appreciate it. 1) Ive used Promix every time I transferred them. Should I use the Promix when I put them outdoors or go w/ more of a gardening soil? If so, any suggestions?
2) I want to take clones from the plants, should I do that right away before I put them outside?
3) The 5 plants Im keeping indoors, should I switch them from the MH bulbs to the HPS bulbs or wait alittle longer?
4) 1/2 the plants need to be watered, if Im putting them outside soon I prob. shouldnt water them now right?
5) Ive been using FloraNova Nutes 1-part Grow for Veg. Should I switch to FloraNova Bloom?
6) i was scared of overwatering & when they were 3"-4" tall I underwatered them and stunted the plants for about 2 weeks.I figuired it out & they took off. I know outdoor plants yeild about 1lb-2lb's, do you have any kinda guess what they will yeild? Theyre mostly W.W. strains and have been kept at 78* & around 60% humidity.
7) Did I hurt them at all by Vegging them to long?

ok, here we go
1) promix is good stuff, i add "soil moist" to my mix so i dont have to water as often
2) yes
3) you need to switch out, they will easily double in height between now and harvest
4) you can, but remember, if you are going to pull them out of there pots ( i wouldnt, their already in containers) they need to be dry as possible, if you try to transplant wet soil, it will not hold together at all.
5) sure, but i would wait till july
6) too many factors involved to guess, but a pound would be nice
7) no
dont forget to harden them in for a week or so when they go outdoors, just sit em in a very shady spot, then let them have just a bit more sun each day until there ready for a daily dose of the giant HPS in the sky

Thanx so much bro. You dont understand how much I appreciate this. Sorry for so many ?'s. I did a ton of research & took a ton of notes before I started and thought I had a good idea of what I needed to do, then when i got down to it I was almost completely lost. Im sure after my 2nd or 3rd grow Ill look back and see how easy it really is. Ive already learned alot. Read this thread he uses pro mix and gets huge plants so being as you are new I would just follow what he does and you should get similar results.

Thanx bro, I got it this time. Im workin on my grow room right now so Ill check it out later. I looked over the front page real quick w/o lokkin at the pics. If you answered these ?'s in ur post just ignore them. How did the moth balls work out for ya? And, what is liquid fence? My boy has some chicken wire fence I was gonna use but if theres a cheaper & more importantly, easier way I'd rather go that route. Thanx again for your help.

The mothballs work great. And liquid fence is basically a spray that you buy that when deer/rabbits/etc. smell it they don't want to have anything to do with it, you just spray it around each plant and they should stay away. And so far they are working great. you can get the liquid fence or something similar at home depot and as for the mothballs just put 4-6 around each plant.
I finally had some time to check out ur log & it looks good dude. It looks like u did about a 3" lip down from the ground, is that right? Did u dig down just far enough to put the plant in, or did u go down deeper? If so how much? How tall are ur plants? They look alot smaller then mine but I think its cuz I left mine inside alittle to long. Mine r 24" - 30" right now. My friend is comin here today to help me w/ the clones & then Im puttin 7 of them outside by my house. Then bringing another 6 to my friends house tomm. So u think I should stay w/ the Promix and just add some moisture control in w/ it? Also, what about Compost? I work at a place that makes it. It helps grass & other plants grow very fast/good. Should I sprinkle some over the top of the dirt when Im done planting them? I saw the 1 dude in ur post say he got 6oz(dry) from his White Rhino. I have 6 or 7 W.Rhinos & Im hoping to get alot more than that from them. Ill post some pics after I get them in the ground.
