So ive been struggling with this curling for a while now. Its seems to come in waves of strength as far as it almost seems like its getting better then bam its worse again. So ive been running into constant problems with the new place I moved too so im slowly starting to get everything under control. So how it started was about a month ago, veg temps were dropping to around 50 degrees f on a 16/8 light schedule and staying at around 75 when the lightswere on. ( so I know its not heat stress) so we decided to just go 24/7 on veg since its getting to cold at night at this time a year. We had also been spraying quite a bit of Nuke 'Em for spider mites before this, wondering if it was from that we had stopped spraying for a couple weeks (powdered them down with diatomaceous earth instead; thats whats on them in the pics) So then after warming them up and them still not getting better I question our un ph'ed well water that was at 7 when are nutrients was at its intended 6. So about a week ago we started ph'ing our well water to 6 like our feeding was. Srill nothing. I'm also struggling with fungus gnats. They couldn't cause this no? Also have raised the lights about 3 feet above the canopy fear of light stress a couple weeks ago. I'm out of explanations.. last thing, could it be broad mites? I just feel like it was way to slow of a spread and ive been having this go on for about a month I feel like now and I haven't necessarily lost a plant to it. The one in the pic is about as bad as it gets. And I feel like they're quite a few healthy plants that dont show much for signs. Also the flower room doesn't show this and I feel like anything in veg would be in the flower as they are right next to each other. As the fungus gnats and spider mites were in both. Please help!

Temps: 75-82 f
humidity: varies in veg on what's outside but around 45-80
Nutes: Mills nutrients + terpinator + bonticare cal/mag

Looks fried from the spray or heat stress, your in veg I would just cut off the damage , check run off , t.d.s and pH see what coming out of your pots

Pic 1 could very well be broad mites. They are extremely small so you'll need a microscope to confirm. Check out Avid, it can be purchased in small doses on ebay as it is very expensive for larger amounts.

Well I hope you guys actually read my whole post. So as I stated. I'd been spraying with Nuke em for spider mites ( supposed to kill broad mites as well, this started happening right after we stopped spraying) ive had this going in for over a month maybe two now. And it still hasn't effected every plant. I'll scope them today. Do I scope a leaf with the damage? And where am I looking? I just know if they are anything like spider mites( they are like cousins no?) Then this is not a bug problem. Way way way to slow.

By no means do these guys sponsor or pay me for this just trying to get people to get off poisonous pesticides I keep seeing people mention, weekly spray and root drench with this stuff and you won't have any problems. i use it during a plain water day because its has Yucca extract(carbs) for the microbes . Good luck and i hope you try this because that other stuff is dangerous man. good luck

Grow More EZ Wet SE is a cuticle disrupting insecticide which contains a sugar detergent (soap) as the active ingredient. Sugar soap is a new generation bio-pesticide that belongs to the soaps (or salts of fatty acids) class of chemistry.

EZ Wet SE has contact insecticidal activity on all stages of soft body insects, including eggs. Insect pests that are contacted demonstrate altered behavior within minutes and rapidly die The active ingredient, sugar soap, works like a detergent to dissolve the wax and lipid layer component in the cuticle, spiracles, and tracheae. EZ Wet SE interacts with the lipid bipolar protein matrix of the cell membrane disrupting their semi permeability. Iinsect respiration and moisture regulation is interrupted, causing immediate mortality. EZ Wet SE can also provide fungicidal activity as a cuticle disruptor by killing the mycelium of fungi which have the same dissolvable wax layers as insects and higher plants.

Unique cuticle disrupting properties:

  • Excellent control of many sucking and soft body pests.
  • Used at very low rates 1/2 to 2 % by volume
  • Works through contact activity
  • Not affected by hard water, metal ions or variations in water pH(Unlike insecticidal soap
Speed of uptake:

EZ Wet SE exhibits superior and immediate wedding properties and cuticle penetration. EZ Wet SE is amphoteric and has excellent surface tension reduction properties, all favoring rapid and efficient uptake of tank mixed products. Compared with water which has a surface tension of 72 dynes/cm, EZ Wet SE with 27 dynes/cm provides 1/3 the surface tension of water, resulting in rapid penetration of the insects cuticle, spiracles and tracheae for rapid control.

Environmental fate and safety:

Fatty acids and sugars are rapidly biodegradable. EZ Wet SE exceeds the 70 percent dissolved oxygen content removal requirement for classification as readily biodegradable. Additionally EZ Wet SE is biodegradable under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions. EZ Wet SE is not accuteley toxic and lethal doses in rats is 2.03 grams/kilograms and has minimum "caution" label/worker safety guidelines.

EZ Wet SE has a favorable ecological toxicology profile, being practically non toxic to birds when ingested, non-toxic to fish, daphnia, mollusk, and earthworms are insensitive.

Do you know anything about Nuke Em' because they claim to be a safe product just as your product does.

I never tried just cutting off the damage cause it gets worse over time. I'd be left with no plant by the end. I had already ph'ed the run off. It was 6.2...

Did you raise the lights after the damage to the tops?
Looks like heat damage from lights being to close to the tops
originally even if you had correct room temps at the time.
They are t5s and I never had them closer then 18in or so. And yes I did raise them after. And it got more severe after I raised them. I have kept them raised and am continuing to do everything ive talked about except spraying just in case some how it's all of these problems related.

For broad mites, you gotta spray that nukem every 24 hours, 3 days straight. I think on their website they have the directions. I haven't had fungus gnats, but that would indicate to me that your soil might be too wet. If overwatered the leaves will droop, then as your plants dry they'll perk up.

just saw it's leaf curling, not drooping

Ya I read the directions (I think its supposed to be like 3 applications within 24 hours) after I saw the curling and suspected broad mites. Ive also let my plants dry out a few times to the point of drooping to help in the aid against fungus gnats.

Remember this isn't happening in my flower. Idk what to do anymore. I'm borderline scrapping everything and bleaching everything down ti start over, that would just set me back big time and I would probably quit growing if it continued to happen.

At the risk of overthinking this, my spring water fluctuates with the seasons. As soon as the rains came the ph rose and I started getting cal/mag issues. Don't really think that's your situation tho. But your flower ferts are gonna be different and the plants' needs will be as well. Have you changed your soil or had any left open outside. I used an open bag that was outside once and had slugs in my dirt. If you lose a plant, investigate those roots see what's shakin

This also seems to have started when I started using mills. I don't see nute burn anywhere. But maybe I'll dial it back? I'm already on the light feeding schedule lowest dose.
could a ph of 6 be too low for my strain (blue dream) When we were using our old nutes at about 6.5 everything was gucci.
