Please help my first grow!

1. attitude.

1 depends on the genetics you want attitude would be a good place to start (although expensive)
2 depends on the amount of plants you want but I would start with two 4x4s or at least a 4x4 for flower and a closet for moms/clones
3 first(if not more) I would go soil...most forgiving
4 c02 will work you can also just open the tent or pull in air from the apartment...depends on how much $$ you have to invest
5 you can open the tents to cool them when lights are off but still need inline fans when off. park osc fans in front whenyou do open. cool tubes are incased and connected to ducting and fans that pull the hot air out and usually connected to air scrubbers to tone down the smell.

Thanks Im definitly ordering from attitude. 2. How many fa gal buckets or ebb and flow or dwc can fit into a 4x4 tent? And i think i will buy one and put together a closet grow for my flowering correct and then move them into grow room for flowering and harvest? this will let me harvest more often since im doing them separatly correct? Also I should only have the co2 on when the tent is closed because I sleep in the apartment and that is dangerous right? I have about 1000. Do you think I can accomplish this with that ammount of money? Im looking for at least a pound per month so if i harvest every 2 to 3 months I would like 2 to 3 pounds, so 4, 6, 8 or 12 plants, Im not sure. Any thoughts? Thanks for the help guys. Will definitly post pics once I accomplish it.

1. Yeah, attitude seeds
2. I dont know how big you plan on making your grow, but a 250w or 400w MH should be more than enough for veg(or just get cfls) and a 1000w HPS for flower would be a good start(for a 4x4 table).
3. DWC is more finnicky and slightly more complex than ebb and flow, but will grow a bit faster. Its really easy to setup a ebb&flow table, just stick your plants in and fill it with medium, dwc u got a bunch of buckets and stuff to deal with.
ebb&flow is definitely set it and forget it, if u got a big enough reservoir u could leave for weeks and be fine. DWC, sure you could too, but its more complex, meaning more can go wrong, and if you wanna build your own dwc SOG system be prepared for a lot of work unless you wanna use a ghetto rubbermaid type rig.
4. You'll need plenty of ventilation especially in a small tent, like intake and exhaust. worry about co2 when u got everything else in line, most likely heat will be your first major problem.
5. a cooltube is a glass tube that the light sits in that connects to a ventilation system, to keep the hot air away from the plants.
my thing is setup like [carbon filter]->[cooltube/light]->[exhaust fan]->[outside]
if you plan on using CO2, you'll need to keep the cooltube ventilation system separate, meaning instead of intaking air from inside the room through the carbon filter, it takes air from outside of the room. So it all stays sealed and you dont lose co2 and cool air. gl and i hope you reap bountiful harvests

sorry i didnt see ur last post before i replied. the 4x4 tent is for veg? You could fit a few moms and have space for clones easily for what you're doing. having a separate room for veg/flowering means you can constantly have plants flowering, meaning harvests every 2 months if you got a fast strain, while your other plants are sitting vegging, ready to immediately fill up the flower room once it gets harvested.
1000$ will be enough to get you started, i doubt you'll be able to build your setup on the scale your describing with that though, you should expect a pound per 1000w light if you do good(or way more if you got the right strain dialed in). So to get 2-3 pounds youll need to buy probably 2 1000w lights, 2 4x4 tables, pumps, reservoirs.. and you're already out of money before you even get to environmental controls/nutes/seeds/other essential stuff.

I want to have as big of a grow as I can in a 4x4 flowering grow tent and about a 4x4 closet vegging room. Ive decided to go with ebb and flow but am not sure which one to go with for this system. I plan on buying a prebuilt system, if you have any suggestions?

What if there are no windows nearby for me to get air from to vent into the tent. I am on the third floor of an apartment building. Would my grow be alright with air stones, air pumps, oscilating fans and co2?

its gonna be extremely hot without any ventilation, youll have to figure something out D:
and for the hydro system itll be way cheaper to build your own, just buy a 4x4 tray, something for a reservoir like a rubbermaid container or something, a water pump and timer. You also need the ebb&flow connector things and drain, and you need to get holes drilled in the tray to put the connectors in. I bought my tray from a hydro shop and they just drilled the holes and stuff for me. Let me know if this is not a good choice for any reason. So a couple of questions for you that would really help me out.....
1. For this system in my 4x4 grow tent, should I use a 600 or 1000 hps light? Also what light should i use for my vegging closet?
2. Should consider using Ebb and Grow buckets instead of the tray? I can fit 9 5 gals into my tent but would only put a 6 bucket system in there.
3. The system Ive shown comes with a EcoPlus Air pump, but should I still get Airstones? or are they useless for this type of grow?
4. How many and which fans should I put in the tent? Ive read about CanFans, what are they exactly and how well do they work?

*5. My ventilation is limited im on the third floor of an apartment building and will be putting my grow tent in a a spare room with no windows. What should I do about fresh air? Should I consider getting CO2 tanks? I am open to DIY ideas*

6. What are the best advanced nutrients that I should be using for this type grow?
7. Which are better incandescent or fluorescent lights?
