Please help me with diagnosis.

1st time grower. Only plant and only seed I had.

Plant doesnt look that bad... looking at your soil it could be a mix of under watering and calmag deficiency. Go to walmart or any type home depot store and get some Epsom salt, a bag is like $5 or less and will last forever with 1-2 plant grows. You will add 1 tablespoon per gallon, but should only need to do this like once every few feedings at most.

What kind of water are you using? What kind of nutes are you using?

hate to say it, but it is a miracle grow blend I have for real garden. I use tap water and 1/2 strength mg tomato. soil is mix of mg potting, peat moss, perlite and bonemeal. lights are 6500k cfls 23watt x 6 I just want to say I grew one once. To be honest, I don't even smoke. I just love to grow and snagged a seed.

Sorry reverof, but I disagree with above. Imo its overwatered, and intense nutes. Notice the salt buildups on the pot edge, lets hope the roots arent hitting them.. I would say let it dry out a bit and give it its next watering with 50% strength nutes. Also a note on the epson salts, get the ones meant for plants, not people. It seems obvious, but youd be suprised.

Ahh, miracle grow. Yeah, that could have something to do with it...

MG soil and MG nutes are actually a very very good combination if you know how to deal with them. Feeding them 50% is a great move, never feed 100% of MG tomato. Also you should only feed MG Tomato like 2x a week, no more, also be careful with the MG soil as most of them include N balls, that would be the rusty colored balls in the soil, they breakdown due to watering, and over watering a plant in MG soil will make many of these burst too close together.

I don't beleive that is salt build up on the sides, that looks like MUD build up. This is from a dirt pot being used and not cleaned well before planting his MJ.

That soil is BONE DRY... stick your finger in that soil, try and go down about 1" and see if it is wet, i will bet its not.

Another great way to know how wet or dry your plant is, is on your next watering, lift the plant feel the weight of it when fully watered, in a matter of a couple days they pot should really lighten up, just by the weight of it you can tell when its time for watering.

i followed the mg nutes and soil from a post on here. i just replanted to this three gallon pot yesterday. prior to yesterday it was just in mg potting soil

I dunno, I gotta disagree on miracle grow, especially the soil, its way too inconsistant. If you cant get much else, then I guess its fine, but I,d avoid that stuff. Thier main source of nitrogen is urea isnt it? That,ll cause ph issues eventually... I dunno, just a though.

Surprise me. What kind of Epsom Salts are available for plants? Magnesium sulfate is pretty basic ain't it?

hey i'm a newbie but am fast learner. i agree, dirty-dirty pot, too dry soil and likely cal/mag deficent.

Ok. So I dug in with finger and soil was reAlly hot the deeper I got. I added water at 1/2 gallon at a time and waited a couple minutes. I finally got some to drain out bottom after 1 and 1/2 gallons. Hope I did that right

Well there ya go... under watering is just as bad as over watering... depending on temps in the room, lights etc... expect to water that 3gal pot every 3 days, the bigger it gets and fills that pot with roots, will probably drop to every 2 days. Remember when you water to get a little run off, that way you know its wet all the way through.

If your pot took 1.5 gallons to get a little run off, that soil was BONE dry through and through. Good Luck!

will it fix itself now? When will I know?

well, the epsom salts for people have other additives to aid in relaxing muscles and stuff i think, whereas the epsom salts for plants...are well....for plants. What I meant by surprising is that I have seen, more than once, cartons of epsom salts at peoples nutrient stations that were meant for people, not plants. no need to be cheeky... oh, by the way, small coincidence, over the hills and far away is playing right now on my i-radio when I saw that its your location as well....stoner coincidence!

@filthy Phil... Sorry to seem cheeky. I've been using it for a long time. On the box it says MgS. that's really all it is. Oh and Martha Stewart said it was a good thing so it's GOT to be good.

its ok, i am sleepy and that makes me sensitive...

Been five hours since watering. Looks worse. Leaves curling diwn worse. Leaves feel dry. I shut off lights that have been going 24/7.

Don't stress over it... let your lights run their normal times and forget about it... check back with it in the morning. You let the soil get way too dry, your plant is stressed and should be good in 24-36 hours.

He or she died. My only seedling. I'm sticking to lemon cucumbers
