Please HELP ME VENT MY GROW TENT

i just bought a 5x5 grow tent and a 1k watt cool tube light...how many fans do i need in all...


Never ran a tent like this before but it gets hot as im in the south and its in a closet with no ac vent.Do i need 3 fans? one for intanke one for exaust and one for the lights? i have no clue how to set this up please help. Also i would like to run a carbon filter if that makes a diffrence.

well i've never used a 1000w or a legit cool tube. i run a 400w with a home made cool tube in a 3 1/2x3 1/2x5 tent/box it takes a fan for the tube a fan for exhaust and than i use a passive intake. just a hole near the bottom. hope that helps sorry

hey mate, I would get a 8inch fan and run it like this the arrows represent the direction of airflow Not a good diagram but you get the idea

yea that pic is EXACTLY what i was thinking..if i get an 8 Inch fan...would it be a problem with my 6 inch hood flanges and would i still need a intake fan or could i use a passive intake...?

hey i have a question...my light has a glass cover right...if i hook the fan and carbon filter up to it...should i leave the glass off so that it sucks air from the whole room..or will it still pull air from the whole room even with the glass piece over it.....its a 440 cfm filter combo in a 5x5 room...im trying to have just one fan is that possible or 2 at the most one for intake one for exaust.

You can get ducting reducers run 8inch ducting then have a ducting reducer to 6inch right near the cool tube, as for intake i would get another fan you might be able to get away with passive but a little extra air is good

Keep the glass on, Look at the pic above, thats what kind of set up i suggest, i would recommend getting another for for intake tho

just remember that all the fans in the world can only get the tent as cool as the ambient temp of the room that they are pulling air from. If you live in the south you are going to need an air conditioner.

my house has ac...just not the closet....ill have to pull air from another room....im still kinda lost though.....i got the first part but where do i put the 2 booster fans and how do they work...please and thanks

I use 1 600 w cooltube. I have a 4 inch inline fan and filter and have it duct to cooltube then other side of cooltube out of tent and in to attic. Keeps temps around 78f so if I was using 1000 I would go for a 6 inch cooltube with 6 inch fan and filter. I also have ducting goin from window to tent with ducting

I would go with a bigger fan maybe a 6 inch pulling air through the cool tube. You should only need one fan. I have a 400 watt cooltube with a 6 inch inline outside of my tent sucking air through the tube and into a carbon filter. My tube is cool to the touch. There are some vids on youtube that will help you out gl!
