please help me choose a LED fixture (EU)

Sounds good man. Now that I have a decent grow under my belt I can focus on some equip upgrades and getting a t5 for cloning / veg and led for flower. I love the stealth aspect of an led system. It removes a lot of my concerns about heat and noise from my fans.

I think that your wattage is OK but the coverage is a little lacking. If you find it so, you should be able to leverage that fixture quite nicely if you put it on a light mover to get your 4 foot length. Keep it in mind if the buds in the corners are a little larfy for your tastes.

I actually got almost that exact lamp from Area 51 a couple weeks ago. I'm planning on throwing it up in my 3x3 bloom room next to the 200w SolarFlare and A51-60. I like how it has the different switches for the reds and whites. Anyway, that bulldog is a beast and I'm sure you're going to be happy. Good luck!

ok, also what I imagine

and a light mover is a choice I have been thinking of, just a bit pricy aswell, but Im a smith/metal working so Im thinking about making a DIY one if possible, just need to find the part (at work ;)) maybe just make a device to start with where I can move it 10" to each side and change it my self, is home 99% of the time doing light on on week days can just set my mobile phone alarm :D

or maybe get another LED light (4 spots maybe) if Im happy with the fist one

also, will either scrog them or atlest LTS/train em a bit so I will be able to keep most bud site with in the light (I hope) was also considering vertical with two plants, but lets see one thing at the time

and popcorn buds is`t the worst thing as I do love to make/smoke oil :) just need to get my 4 oz every 10 weeks

yea I hope so, should be newest LED/lens technology and quality LEDs from the US as fare as I can understand and Par light should be right for weed so I do have high hopes for it and if it do as I expect I will most likely get another one to cover the last ft or tow of my flowering room

Word on the street, Fero and Area51 has gone their separate ways. So I'm pretty sure that the light you bought from A51 has zero relation to the Apollo this guy just bought.

He is right though, we and Fero are not working together anymore. We had co-released a light last year, the AF600 model (hence the "A" and "F" Area51 and Fero) But things didn't go as smoothly as I would have liked, so we decided to go solo and wish them luck in their future endeavors. They may or may not become distributors for the new Cree light, we haven't came to any agreements as of yet.

As far as the "Bulldog" LED, it is not the same as any A51 lights, they are getting that through Cidly it appears, as Cidly does own the patents on that case design (with the side air scoop vents), whereas the ones we used in our A51-60-240 models, that is a public mold and is available to anyone that is willing to buy 25 cases at a time, and then know what to put inside. Plus we used Heliopto LEDs (with verifiable datasheets) and the Apollo uses unverifiable "Epistar" LEDs.

Happy growing everyone :peace:

Perhaps I should have been more specific. The last lamp I'm referring having purchased from you guys I dont think was an Area 51 product. I'm sorry for any confusion and next time I will be sure to highlight almost.

The light you shown above is from a series we sold for a brief time last year. Right when we released the lamps, the case supplier discontinued those cases and we had to look elsewhere. And we're not too keen on selling ready-made lamps without knowing what is what inside. It just doesn't sit well with me when we have to answer customer questions, "I don't know". So, we started to develop our own case for the new Cree lamp.

Here's a sneak peak of that case bongsmilie

so any opinions on the light I just bought ?

will it flower two plants in a 2x3 ft. scrog with results close to a 400W HPS ?

finaly I got it :D

DSC01346.jpg

well it did take 3 weeks to arrive (they did promise 10 days) but I guess its also have sumthing to do with the holidays and of course the fact that I had it customize
they did answer my mails pretty quick and did keep me updated along the way.

also I wonder if I have to pay tax ? as it arrived directly from Hong Kong and not spain/UK where there office is located ? lets see

delivery was fast once they shipped it (3 days) and it did arrive in a nice plain brown box with lots of form plast

however did`t have the EU plug I ask for, no biggy, made the switch in 5 minutes, but still

also when I tipped the fixture around I could hear sumthing loose !!!!! and after tipping it around a few times I got a screw out !!! hope it is`t important :D

future more, each cluster have one LED that either is missing or is`t connected,

DSC01347.jpgDSC01348.jpgDSC01351.jpgDSC01349.jpg

when "we" customized it together (me and the sale person in a online chat) we did only "fit" 14 in each cluster, a erro, so I guess Im to blame aswell, tho I did mail them to correct it later on, I guess it really wont hurt anything (cept its missing) since it is running underpowered from the start with 288W for 120 LEDs ... well 112 LEDs that is, but still less then 3W per LED so I guess.. I hope it will be ok (anybody got any experience here ?) as I really don't want to return it now, finally got it, its working great it seems, and one of my plants was out growing the T5HOs

I send em a mail with a few pics and hope for some refund or a good discount on my next buy, as they seems nice and trust worthy and since it is a new company I like to give em some line, that is of course if they Etc. refund 100€ of the 400€ I paid or send me a small 2 cluster fixture for free or give me 50% on my next buy or sumthing along that line, lets see, not the best beginning with the LEDs for me :-?

so I got it up and running with my oldest LSD plant in a 4 gallon air pot under it, about 6 weeks old from seed, been LST a bit last few weeks to get it nice short and bushy with as many top`s as possible (11 so fare on the way)

the light do impress me, according to my light meter it provide 7,000 foot candles 0-1 foot away and from 1-3 feet it provide around 5,000 foot candles, pretty impressive, after that it fait quickly to 3K and under, so I placed the the plant about +2 feet away so all the grow is receiving about 5K Fc

tho it don't seems the LED spread the light much, so I might consider a light mover, or a fixture more ? lets see, I give it a little time and see how it preform, I will keep this thread updated for who ever is interested in the LED and my grow
