re STRAIN me

Hello guys this is my 1st regular seed grow it's Critical Mass and just wondering if anyone can help me know the sex of this strain, it is miles better than any of its siblings actually would be the fattest, stumpiest plant I have ever grown. I probably need to be a little more patient, but the excitement of this little beauty is killing me. Sorry about the inconvenience of this thread and thanks to all those who share some of their wisdom with me .

Your pre-flowers are still quite small so it's difficult to see definitively but those are starting to look a bit dude like. I would give it another few days and check again. You should see the "little white shoelace" poking up. My wife thought they looked like shoelaces one time when she had a peek at my pre-flowers through a magnifying glass.

Once you see the white poking up - congratulations! But if those green things start growing balls ... sorry mate.

Thanks, confirmed what I was thinking, they look like early stages of male balls. I'm not unhappy if it's a male I will just collect some pollen, it has out grown the rest by miles at this early stage.

I've noticed males tend to grow faster, taller compared to females but not sure if it's just from my limited experience.

If this is a male it would make sense then,
This one is insane, it's 6 1/2 inches tall but the stem is as thick as an index finger, so not very tall but extremely thick and chunky, the joints where the branches meet the main stem are super chunky, like knuckles.
popped 25 seeds and this is the most staunch of the lot by a long way.

looks male (plus I can't see any white pistils).
Another hint, that seems to hint male for me, is the main stem has that 'hexagonal' shape (as opposed to a smoother, rounded main stem). I also find males grow faster and generally have a more 'stocky' build.
Males also seem (to me) less resistant to bending when you flex the main stem a few nodes from the top.

thanks for every ones help, today one of the balls has grown out a little bit like it is on its own little stem and pulled away from the plant so I'm positive He is male.

I noticed that hexagonal shape as it's the 1st time I have ever seen it, didn't realise it is a male trait. thanks Puff_Dragon.

fyi - it's only what I have observed (in the strains I grow) but I have no science to back it up :)
White pistils (equals female) thats the one thing people seem to agree on.

They don't always show pistils right off... I've had them where they won't show until I put them in 12/12, but I know they are female by experience of that variety. Sometimes they will even pop a male flower out of a female pod.. THAT gets irritating to say the least. hehhe

I have one now that popped a male flower like that, I picked it off with my thumb, I haven't seen another male flower yet.
