Please help identifying these bugs ---->

I don't see these things except immediately after watering, and then there are hundreds of them crawling on the edge of the pot. The plants still look relatively healthy, and there doesn't appear to be any of them on the plant itself:

I'm hoping they are the hypoaspis type of mites, but the sheer volume of them is freaking me out.

Also, I'm catching these things flying around. Worst case scenario, the mite-looking things are root aphids, and these are the winged version of them. Hopefully, these are just fungus gnats:

There will be a random one on a leaf sometimes, but for the most part they swarm in the hundreds on the rim of the pot.

I suspect you're right. I had them on some carrots last year. Fucked up my day.
You need to do an industrial zap for these guys. They're asexual, so au natural probably wont nick them all. Better to go hard once and really kill them all (theyre in the root zone, there's no gentle way to monitor them, right?) then go organic and leave a couple only to have the problem resurface.
Do a soak for 5 minutes MINIMUM with a chemical pesticide to ensure you kill them all. For real. If you go organic, you're going to have to up the soak time significantly. For instance, if you use soap, its going to be more like an hour.
These are hard to get rid of. Don't go easy on em.

Those are called plant lice my friend and you probably wont be able to kill them. The good news is I have had them twice and they dont seem to affect the plants very much.
