Please help identify my plant problem!

Hey guys,

This is my first indoor grow and for the most part things are going very well. However, two of my plants are showing signs of some problems, and I want to get some professional opinions on what they may be. After searching online and reading a bunch, I think I have narrowed my problem down to either Calcium or Magnesium deficiency, but would like a second - or several - other opinions.

The yellowed/spotted plant is PPP, and the other with the dried up bottom leaves is White Widow - I might have the strains backwards, I forget what the order it is but pictures from left to right - I think - is PPP, PPP, WW, PPP

Also, I wanted to add that the rest of these plants, above where it is showing signs of stress or a problem, they look fine, it is just the bottom areas/yellowing leaf tips that I am concerned about.

I am fertilizing using recommended dosages with BMO Grow it Green and PST.

Thanks for your help!

It is tough to tell for sure from the pics. But it looks like to me you have a few things going on. P def., notice the purple stems. N overload., upper leaves show signs of nute stress, starting to claw up. Poor watering habits, I noticed only the medium directly around the plant appears to be getting watered. You need to saturate the entire pot when you water. The medium does not look like it supports good drainage, needs more perlite, sand, vermiculite or the like to improve drainage. And probaly do have a mag. def. But with all the other issues it no wonder. Doubt its a cal. def., they usually show at the top of the plant. And your right, seriously doubt its a bug problem.

Thanks cowboy - a very thorough explanation. I am not sure if the pictures are showing well (iPhone camera), but I do saturate the pots when I water. I think this was taken before I watered the plants that day. But I will take your advice and maybe try to mix up a better draining mix and try to add P ( I thought purple stems was a N deficiency?) and magnesium. Thanks for the response!
