Best nuts for best yield
Best seeds
Hrydo or soil
Things to get this rolling and how many plants would it take to yield 10 lbs every 2 or 3 months

To get that kind of yield, you can at least double the lights you'll need, have a separate veg/clone area (with floros and at least 4 400w MH). I'd go soil, organic (Espoma nutes are available at your local nursery), and lolli-pop them. I can get about 5lb (every 60ish days) per flood table with 3 1K lights over it. There are 72 girls that produce 1 main bud per plant, each Cola gives me about an OZ. You'll need 2 tables.

Hey gboy, you are slightly limited with two grand and in hopes of achieving 10lbs every two to three months. If you were to do an outdoor grow, 2grand could take you very far, but indoor gardening is expensive if you are going for yields. You should start small, like a pound every two months, and move up from there. Too many variables can go wrong when you are harvesting such large amounts. With that being said, what is your grow room like? Whats your space? How is your electrical? Do you have any ventilation for the room; window, intake extake fans, etc? Is there any dispensaries around you? Whats your plan to cool and heat your space? If you list these variables, I can tell you a few items you can look into.

With proper shopping (Buy used High Bay lighting instead of the High Tech Ballasts) you COULD do a decent job getting to where you want to be, but like Brokenturtle (?) said, start out smaller, let the plants pay for any upgrades. That way, you'll see what works and doesn't in your particular set up, and won't be wasting a lot of cash.

10 lbs is alot of weed and will smell indeed, you may want to consider that if your grow is in a place where oder may be a problem. good luck

HAHA, that is what I was thinking. got to learn to crawl before you can run...or sprint in the olympics bud. Start with reading as much as you can... then read some more. then you can start designing a little bit.

Anyone can list a bunch of supplies but would you know what to do with them?

Lights
Mylar
8inch ducting
Multiple inline fans
Carbon scrubbers
wood for room framework
pulley system or chains
fans
nutes
perlite
vermiculite
good soil
AC unit

Just some things to start researching

now dont even get me started with taking clones, picking the right strain, the difference between starting from seed or clone, the correct way to use and mix nutes and ph, soil or hydro, etc etc etc.

i read for a couple of months before i put the first seed into soil. i was going hydro all the way. just before the store opened, i read a post about how a guy lost his whole hydro crop because of a feeding screw up. something flipped in my mind and i went with a soil grow instead.

fast forward a few years. i do a bubbling buckets grow. everything is beautiful. big round plants. i flipped them into flower, fed them the next day and went to work. when i got home, it looked like somebody burned the leaves. they were all brown and crunchy. 12 hours and it was all gone! i'll never do hydro again. i'm a stoner. the chances of me not fucking up again are slim! :)
