OK, winter is almost over - except that some of the worst weather and temps of the winter is hitting in the last two weeks of winter, so it's time to get a new crop going. I've got four Platinum OG's from Pacific Seed Company (an absolutely super seed bank!!) in 5 gallon grow bags under the SF-7000. We had temps in the teens last night so I had to put all my seeding basils, peppers, lettuce, etc in my grow tent to keep them from getting killed. I planted (direct sow) one seed 3/4 and it got it's first true leaves on 3/11. I planted three more today (3/13) in bags and under a small LED light in the house. After the threat of frost I'll take the veggies out and put the new girls in the grow tent.
In the bag: approximately 40/40 mix of worm poop and peat with some Azomite thrown in, and the rest is good top soil with probably some Black Cow in it. I may top dress it with some rock phosphate and then DTE to keep out the pests. I'll have automatic watering via irrigation tubing that I drilled holes in and placed sub-surface. If any of you experts want to make suggestions on the mix I'm using, be my guest.
I read the reviews again today on the Platinum OG and I can not wait to try this; almost all 5 stars saying the same things, especially "Not for the average toker". This will be a slightly staggered harvest with the first one being 9 days older.
A huge shout-out to Spider Farmer for making such an amazing light; I swear you could see this thing from the moon! I have the one seedling under it, with it on the lowest setting, and it's loving it. I love that it doesn't have a fan.
Many more photos to come.
