I've not done it, but it can easily be done. A parabolic reflector would be a good choice, and set the pots up just out of the water, supported by cinder blocks and use rope wicks from the pots, hanging into the water/nutrients.

I dont see why it would not work. You will need to drill hole for sure but the roots in theory shoulod spread fine across the pool. dirrtyd

Of course it will work and there cheap at the end of the season. I have 10 that I used for 5 years and they are the dope for growing. I put one 1000w over it with a 5 ft parabolic reflector over a 5 foot pool.

I have the purple ones and am using one right now to hold some clones. I'll post a pic.

It looks as if you are merely using the pool to catch runoff, but are actually growing in pots?

Too bad we talking about outdoor your example is inside. Also you are not growing in the pool itself. dirrtyd

Who said outdoors? I started with pots and then I did fill them with dirt and grew in them, I built raised beds thats what I use now. The sides are not that strong but when filled with dirt not a big deal. Now I use them to protect my rugs in the transit room.

If you can grow in a pot you can grow in a pool.

Funny, I just did a search on google "Blue Plastic Wading Pool" and I found this thread! I was already a member.. anyways.. I was planning an outdoor deep water culture (DWC) hydroponic grow. I got the bright idea to use a kids pool, looks like I wasn't the first! I wanted to limit my DWC to one reservoir but wanted some space and a lot of sites. I'm thinking a 60" x "12 pool would be perfect. I am going to buy a 4' x 8' sheet of ply wood and a 2x4 and make a circler platform about 4" above the pool and cut in sites where need be. As this is going to be my first grow I was wondering what others on the forum thought about my idea, so what do yall think?
