Hi there! I must agree with you on the babysitter thing and I already had that opinion but I these were my last holidays for this year so I decided to take the risk. I forgot to mention that this friend of mine grew weed for 3 years, though he has some very weird concepts that contradict a lot of stuff I find here. The thing is, the only nute solution he gave them was on the day I arrived (at least that's what I scheduled - as I haven't been with him so far, not even to get my keys, I haven't confirmed it yet).

Anyway, I gave them a bit of a "plastic surgery", removing the burnt tips and stuff and now they look a lot better. The only thing is that 2 or 3 of them are starting to show brown pistils. Just like in the pic I posted but some of them are, I would say, 40 or 50% brown. This is their 5th week of flowering. How much long do they have? The buds are looking nice but I thought they would swell more. I've been giving them 1mL/L Top Max. Is this enough or should I increase the dosage? Or should I give no nutes at all to those 2 or 3 plants? I don't know its strain for sure though I think it is Critical Mass (flowering time 45-55 days).

i haven't used that particular nutrient, so a can't give advice on dosage. i can tell you though that the browning hairs look fairly normal for week 5 of flowering, depending on the strain. my red cherry berry turns 90-100% red by week 5, but it doesn't finish till week 9. on the other hand, my white widow finishes around the same time, but with few if any red hairs. my lsd stays white the entire grow. i would feed the stressed plants 1/4 strength solution, if you use any at all. they will swell the most between weeks 5-7 for most strains, and this is when i recommend using your bloom booster/carbo supplement (for most strains, all will vary though). it will take a few practice runs to find out what your babies really like in terms of feeding schedules and quantities. personally, i start my flowering with 1/3 strength, week 2 2/3, and week 3 is full strength. at the start of week 5, i add my carbs to the mix. also the breeder or website isn't always accurate with flowering times, as faster flowering strains typically sell more. take top 44 for instance. the breeder claims 6 weeks to finish, but in my experience it's better to harvest at 7-8 weeks. play around with it a little bit, find out when it's best FOR YOU to harvest.

Thank your for your help! I hope it is that because I think they are supposed to swell quite a bit more. I'm not sure about the strain but I think it is Critical Mass or some hybrid of it so it should take at least two or 3 weeks more. Cheers! +rep
