Plants flowering and starting to turn yellow/brown

I am growing 5 female plants.. they started in april and now have a weird brown and yellow flowers on all the plants. pics included, see second post for more pictures an in-depth explanation of the issue.

the gurus are going to want your particulars. Ph, ec temps and medium.

They were all grown from indoor clones from a grow store in california, I moved them outside and proceeded to transplant them into 30 gallon fabric bags with quality Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil in mid April.

They get plenty of sun light and water but not too much of either. I have NOT given them any additional chemicals this year yet, I usually do but this same exact symptom seems to happen to a few plants every year.

If the plants reach maturity they will produce useless fluffy brown flowers with no THC and the end result is not smoke-able in my opinion. They never produce any seeds either so I guess they are not getting pollinated but Im stumped??

Every year this happens to a few plants but this year all 5 are showing the signs, I am so bummed because I know the end result is going to be a waste of my time and money.

I also have grown in doors all my adult life and never had a similar issue except for spider mites but those were very visible, these plants have no signs of a bug infestation.

Someone with knowledge beyond my growing capabilities please chime in with a suggestion of what it could possibly be and if there is a fix if caught early enough? I really need help guys!

Russet Mites without a doubt. All that brown is literally thousands of mites.

All those little specks you see on the fan leave and going down the stem are russet mites. Look at it with a scope if you have one and you will be shocked.

If you were still in veg you could eradicate them easily with wettable sulfur at 1tbsp per gallon of water and spray every 3 days. You are pretty screwed trying to beat them this far into flower if all your plants look like this.

Trust me, A $10 bottle of wettable sulfur will prevent this from ever happening again and will last you a long time. You have been propagating these mites for years it sounds like. I'd spray any surrounding plants/trees as well.

Thanks Waterproof808 i learned something new today. Called professor google and it sure looks like what you said it was. I have never had them but at least i know what to watch for now and best of all how to get rid of them.

I was thinking it was some kind of mite but I cant see with the naked eye..

I know sulfur makes the flowers non-smokable but since its so early in the flower stage would it be possible to try to salvage?

the plant just started to change over to flower a couple/few weeks ago

The infestation looks pretty far along, you could try to salvage but you should also come to terms with the possibility of having to scrap all the plants at some point. At this point its a total loss without doing any treatment, so you may as well try something if you can afford to.

I've heard of using a mixture of rubbing alcohol diluted with water to kill them and also using heat. Those might be better options in flower but I've always used sulfur in veg which works extremely well and fast.

Some people also recommend Green Cleaner but I've never used it. There are also enzyme products like dr.zymes which I've tried but didnt find very effective.
