plants finally budding!! how do i know when to harvest?

my babys all grown up!! its been 5 months and there almost done. there pretty hairy and smell BOMB!!! the question is how do i kno when to harvest them. if i let them go too long i can get budrot i guess and if i cut to early i end up with not as much as i could have. is there anyway to tell?

why would u get bud rot that doesnt sound right also harvest depends on what kind of smoke u want couch lock or head headzy high lol but pics would help to determine when to harvest but most got by 75% cloudy tric's

go to radio shack and get a 60x - 100x pocket microscope. They sell it for $12.85.

if the outer leaves are brown and crispy they would be ready

You don't need to go buy by a little microscope to discern the best time to harvest, I could give you a bunch of anecdotal evidence but you should try it yourself. The longer the better, and think about it.. how did our ganja growing counterparts thousands of years ago know when to chop..? certainly not with a radioshack microscope, they learned to read the plant and it's cycles.

get on ebay and get a 30x pocket microscope for $9 so you can keep up on the color of your trics. i like to let mine get about 60% amber 40% milky white and then I harvest by the time that happens id say with my strains almost all the hairs are red
