planted seeds

After you plant the germanated seeds into solo cups, what light conditines do you use,before they sprout, if any? thanks.

I leave my germinated seeds in the dark until they sprout, that's just me.

i use cfl's or flourescent strips as soon as they pop the soil. some people put the light over them before they pop through. mine just end up being mostly in the dark because they are in the boiler room and thats where its warm that time of year. once they pop they get under the light right away.

thanks, I have them under cfls now but the soil dry quickly, I will turn the light off

the light isnt doing anything but drying out your soil and can actually do more harm than good, if you want to keep the lights on them make sure you water good and cover the cup with seran wrap so that the moisture stays in.

plants cant even photosynthisize untill you see leaves.
