Plant Yeild question

So I helped a buddy grow some plants a while ago, but it was more like watched him water them before we smoked a bowl every day or two, though I did get involved a few times. I've germinated seeds and grown the sprouts and sold them off, but this time, I want to grow a few plants to full grown mature budding adults. What I want to know is about what I can expect to yeild from a full grown, healthy mature plant. I have seven alive indoors right now, I just lost one, but it was my fault, I let it dry out while germinating, and I plan to loose 1-3 more to being males...say I end up with 4 plants, about what should I be expecting in the end...remembering that this is my first time, but I have a green thumb.

I know you want a realistic answer but the question in itself is not a valid question, for several reasons which are variables like grower skills, room conditions & equipment used.

For instance,if you read everything in sight for a few months before germing a single seed & wrote down all the pertinant details for reference, set your room up to have perfect temps & optimum air circulation, learned about nutrients & how & when to use them, used a new 1,000 watt hps light system on a light mover, vegged for several months ect you could expect anywhere from 3 to 4 ounces per plant, now add to the mix the addition of a properly set up co2 system (no home made shit in a soda pop bottle) you could add even more to the yeild.

On the other hand,if you try to get off cheap & wing it as you go,start adding cfl's as you can afford them, use a bunch of home made stuff to save from buying the real deal then you might end up with 3 grams per plant.

Like i said there are too many variables to give a hard nailed amount.

ive heard that you can get up to 1/4 of a pound!! from just 4 plants....

BUT that is if you are using the rights nutes and soil and the right lightage

as the previous post said there are too many variables

An ounce per plant is not a fantastic yeild for an experienced grower but is easily obtained for a newb grower, IF that grower paid attention & learned what plants need & when they need it,also if the grower bought good equipment.

I beleave i am not a great grower but have read a lot and think i know at least the basics. Nothing like reading a lot first. There is a lot to learn. i know i don't know everything but learned a lot by reading.
Start with some grow guides then go to foruns like this and search for questions you have.

I don't know how much my plant could give also.. can you replicate my setup? I did't spend much and i think it coud give a satisfatory yeld...

I just say the same generic thing in every "how much will i yeild thread" (afterall there are about 10 of them a day). none of us can guess your yield because it varies depending on soil, nutes, lighting and how much the grower knows and does to care for the plants. none of us can guess for you except for pulling numbers out of a hat.

my advice, grow it and find out for yourself. waiting sucks but we all have to deal with it. trust me, none of us like to wait for the end product!

Thanks for the replies, I understand fully what your saying about set-ups etc. I'm moving into a house in a month and at that time, I'm going to start slowly replacing my makeshift setup with a real one. I have done all the reading you've been talking about, though I don't take notes (could be found if I leave them out...and who hasn't forgotten something baked), as well as spoken to a few people I know who have grown before. I know a lot about plants, I took a lot of horticulture classes in high school, for a reason haha, and have grown all types of plants at home from Orchids to bonsai cypress trees. :)

I guess since this has been established as an invalid question, what part of the set-up would you recommend I replace first? Nothing I have is 'high quality,' all of my legal plants are grown in a four season porch, it's mostly things I had laying around the house when I realized, "oh shit, my seeds germinated over night."

Thanks for the advice, I'm taking it all into close consideration, I have some seeds from some :leaf: Bubble Jack and :leaf: Alaskan Thunder Fucks :leaf: that I'm waiting to germ until I get this down, but I would like to learn this so I can have a constant supply of supers for myself by fall.

PS I will toss up some pictures of what I've got growing once they are a bit further along.

Waiting sucks but try and enjoy the process. Yield is just the end result and we all are trying to "get there". However, the actal growing process is so much fun, the time passes by fast and it seems there is always something to do...besides watering.

Don't get all caught up in "how much will I get", instead, learn what makes a plant better, bigger and more potent. There is no substitue for experience. My advice...get experience and enjoy the process. My first couple of grows, I became so attached to my girls, I did not want to hack'em down. Of course, that urge to not cut passed but still...I am just sayin!

Hell yeah dude, thats my basic intent, but having never grown a plant to harvest myself, I was curious what to expect. I haven't had a whole lot to do to them lately, but that time should come soon enough.

:joint:Thanks
