An auto will start flowering in a couple of weeks after germination depending on strain even if on 18/6.

ok thats all i needed to know. defidently confirms my plant is autoflowering. i have a clone in pot and it is already flowering, its only been 4 weeks. should i take clippings now for more clones then?

You can if you want but personally I wouldn't think it's worth it, by the time the roots develop it is well into flowering by then and the yield would be small, I have never done it so my opinion is not from experience.

i take a cutting off the main stems of an af but not after it's 9 days old. as mentioned, they start flowering somewhere around day 20. GL

Are you sure its flowering. Or is it just preflowering...a plant will put a few hairs on at the nodes even if its still vegging once it becomes sexually mature.

You may have got a cut from a plant beginning to flower. It is close to that time of year outdoors. Just keep the light cycle 18hrs or more and your plant should veg just fine.

If you haven't changed your light to 12/12 yet then its auto... if you keep it outside it could be pre-flowers and not auto because sunlight is 13 or 14 hrs a day most places. But you dont see pre-flowers when its that small and on 18/6 of light.

so then the probability is auto. even on my 18/6 cycle, i feel that after 4 weeks i should have a better growth. anything i can do to help this?

Its a clone from an adult outdoor plant. It is not an auto. And you will see preflowers under 18/6 once the plant is sexually mature.

Are you feeding them at all?
If not you should give them something, start off with about half the stated dose of whatever you use.

this was his 3rd gen of cloning. that makes me question auto? he also keeps his in a window sill for 2 months so it gets a nice stretch, then he plants outside. the still go atleast another month or so with no flowering visible. would that be possible if they were autos. also would he be able to go three gens with autos?

If the plant it was taken from a plant that had begun to flower the it may take it a little time to get vegging good. And if its 4weeks from being cloned, not rooted, then your right on track.

was confirmed not an auto, now i need to try and figure out why there is so much preflower so early on. im hoping as long as i keep it in 18/6 it wont produce any bud until it grows much larger
