Plant too tall

I am growing three white widow plants right now in an attempt to find a mother plant. One of the plants is about a meter high and my grow box is just a bit over a meter. Is it alright to cut 10 cm off this plant? Is there anything else I need to do if so? or just chop and continue feeding the same way?

I've read somewhere cutting them was alright but I was unable to find that source again. I've topped plants off before but never 10 cm of a plant. The other two plants are bushier and shorter if that helps at all?

I have taken clones and they have just begun to root, I am going to flower those to find out which ones are female.

Why don't you try tying them down rather than cutting the plants? I wouldn't recommend cutting your plant but I'm no expert.

my guess would be that you can cut it, not an expert opinion here though. Use that as a clone itelf. Is it in flowering, how old is it. My guess is itll need more than 10 cm. unless its close to the end.

It's 44 days old. I haven't flowered the plant but within the next couple days I plan on flowering a I clone I took about a week ago to find out if it is a male or female. I don't plan on flowering the big plant because I want to use it as a mother plant if it is female and neither of the smaller ones are.

Can I just keep cutting it until it stops growing upwards? I thought I read somewhere that if you cut it a bunch of times over a long period of time it'll stop growing upwards.

i dunno about that, dont see why it would stop growing, ither way youll have to keep cutting it and if it does stop growing then in your case thats not a bad thing i guess, nothing to lose

If you are still in VEG I see no reason why couldnt take the top off the plant. Make sure you put it to good use if you do. If this plant is going to be a mother it might be a good idea to top it. I like the idea of tieing it down however the most :) Good luck

I would love to see some pictures :)

Nice plant, your plant being that big, why can't you tell if it's a boy or girl, does it have to be in the flowering stage in order to sex it? also what kind of lighting are you using?

There is probably other signs but I haven't seen any and I suck at telling the difference unless I flower a clone to see the balls. Then I know 100% what it is.

I am only use 3 Daylight CFLs for vegging, 26 watts I believe, one per plant. It's pretty light efficient room I think. Once I find out which are male and which are female I'll put those lights on the other plant(s). The bottom of the plants need some light but it isn't to bad yet.

2 46watt soft white and 1 26 watt daylight cfls for flowering. May get a 150 watt hps, we'll see due to space issues.
