Plant shows sex on 18hrs

I have some plants that are vegging right now for 18 hours under a 400w MH bulb. I went into my grow room and noticed that some of the plants had sexed themselves they all were males. How and why did this happen? I thought plants only showed sex when they were under 12 hours of light?

autoflowering strain genetics... sometimes c.ruderalis (which flowers under any photoperiod) is bred into a strain to shorten flowering time. you may have unstable hybrids (or just autoflowerers)

Thanks guys so can I leave them in the room or will the pollen sacks eventually open while still in 18 hrs?

from what people are saying that's normal (it's new to me, i don't veg that long), so i would venture to say no. a vegging male would not release pollen under 18 hour light unless, i reluctantly repeat, it has ruderalis genes
