Is it possible for my plant to be showing sex while still under t-5 lights on an 18 hr light cycle? I swear there are white pistils coming fromk the tops of one of my plants. Ive heard that if a plant is stressed it could do that. I did do a major trimming due to size constrants. If this is showing to be female can i count on that or is it possible it may be a hermie. And is the plant going to stop producing these pistils once it is under less stress. will post a couple pics later, my camera died.

they start to show sex after about 6-8 weeks of veg.... It's normal. If there are only pistils coming out then it's most likely female. If you see any pollen sacks too, then it's trying to go hermie.

OK i thought while in veg a plant wouldn't show sex. Only during flowering would they, that was the reason i took clones from this plant to determine the sex. So i guess your saying if you let a plant veg long enough it will show sex automatically. How far does this go.Will the plant start to flower?

I've been curious about this as well. I had 6 robust plants (4 male 2 female) vegging for over 2 months and after a while they began flowering and showing pollen sacks. I didn't get it at first because they remained under 18/6 the whole time. The only thing that made sense was that they were stressed somehow. I've just always had the understanding that as long as a plant is under 18/6 of light or more, they'll continuously veg. Oh well...:leaf:

yep when they mature they will show sex. it can be 4 weeks it can be 6 or 8 weeks. all depends on the amount of stress they have been threw.

Showing sex and flowering are 2 different items.
Yes they can and will show sex in veg.
I, personally feel, its best to wait for these signs before flowering.
