can anyone tell if this is root rot? maybe some other disease? the plants are starting to yellow and die from the bottom up.

there is an intake by the pots that is on at night, so cold might be an issue.

90% of the time a plant yellowing from the bottom up is a lack of nitrogen.
As AimAim said, it looks like a Nitogren defiency.
But it could also be a Copper deficiency, it looks very similair!

Is your pH alright? This could cause the plant not being able to pick up the nutrients.

Well what does it mean when the bud leaves start turning greenish yellow/ greenish brown at the top cola??
