plant life without lights? time length?

how long can a plant sit without light. growing white widow and both nirvana and dinafem say to leave the lights off for the last 2 weeks of growth to get the crystals you want. seems like a long time to go without light for a plant but ive seen this from 2 different breeders on the same strain. thanks guys!

Wow, two weeks. can you post a link where you read that? thats a hell of a long time.
Most I have read was something like 7 days and I thought that was insane. I do zero days with out lights. I just harvest before the lights come on.

heres the one for nirvana on attitudes page that says it but i know it at least WAS on nirvanas site as well.

IMO, there's a huge difference between 0 hours of light for two weeks and 8 hours a day. Also they just say "try". Well, you can "try" eating a hotdog through your asshole, but that doesn't make it a good practice.

well i understand that it says or at least 8 hours but it says to try and keep them off altogether. and i also understand them to tell you to try is just that, trying. but if they are the breeders they should know what they are talking about right? its THEIR plant.

but thats why im here asking. that doesnt sound right

ya i wudnt "try" anything until its proven successful and i dont "try" anything with my whole harvest..maybe try to put 1 plant in complete darness if u can spare it. ya know..dont learn the hard way..stay high bro :leaf:

OMG I cannot stop laughing at this!!! Too GD funny! I'm thinking about turning my lights down to 8-10hrs. I wouldn't recommend putting them completely in the dark tho!!

ive heard of putting them in complete darkness for 3 or 4 days but not 2 weeks.
