so u think if i take the top layer off the rest will still b good. im kinda in a money bind so cant really spend ne cash on ne extra supplies. i have mg left in tha bag but kinda dont wanna use more than i have to ya kno wat i mean

Ahhh. New it was very least on rhe gulf side. As for soil, MG products can work very well, but, not good for beginners. I haven't tried FoxFarm products, but alot of ppl here have and with great success. I have read that for starting out, the warrior (think that's the one) version is good for starting out. Wait for confirmation though as I haven't used it. Deffinately read as much as you can stand about growing be it from here or anywhere on the net before trying again though. The knowledge you gain before starting, rather than when ur stuck (and in this case to late) will be well worth it in rhe final product.

FFOF (Fox Farms Ocean Forest) is probably one of the best soils to use for beginners.

BTW If that really is beach sand, that's prob why your plant looks as if it is about to die. beach sand has a LOT of salt in it. MG soil + beach sand = death wish for plants.

I used to use the oceans forest also. try out 1 bag of the roots organic.
funny you mention Roots, I used to use it for a couple years. Definitley a great soil! I have the hook up on wholesale ffof and it never fails me. Good lookin out putting Roots name out there, it's a great mix
