Hey im a new grower using a closet and my plats are very small. this is a picture after 24 days since put in soil. what am i doing wrong or maybe its just a slow growing strain? its called snow queen, i had never heard of it. im using soil with an NPK of 1-0.5-0.5 maybe i should add some perlite. like a fool i first planted them in clear cups maybe they became root bound early on??? im getting a little impatient because i see other grows that are huge after only 14 days. thanks for the helping me out in advance.

Are they outdoor? If not what kind of lights are u using, do u have a fan blowing on em? give us something to work with.

they are indoor and they are under regular cool white flourescent lights. and yes i have a fan blowing on the constantly. thank you for replying so quickly.

they are just regular 18inch lights from a hardware store im not sure what CFL's are maybe you could tell me?

Your Lighting is your problem. You want CFL those are the spiral florecent lights that screw in to a standard light socket. The kind that are energy savers, there is lots of info on CFL lighting on this sight. Go to the GrowF&Q link at the top left hand side of this sight.

i will try to keep you posted i plan on going to the store and making a little 6 socket CFL rig, do you think this would be sufficient for a closet. i didnt think that light during veg was that big an issue. i saw other growers use cool white flouresents. its kinda discouraging after 24 days and such minimal growth. im trying to keep my hopes up and all your posts are really helping me stay positive i really appreciate it. i hope one day i can use the knowledge i gain from this to help other inexperienced growers like myself.

keep tokin'

I personally wouldnt use the cfl lights as they seem from the pictures I have seen people who do use them not to be ver effective and not so cheap. I prefer getting a $8 florescrent shop light. The plain old 48 inch 2 tube kind from wal-mart.I have used these for many grows and love them. Get them right on top of the plant almost touching the leaves maybe like an 1 inch away at the most is fine. Then you will need a hps for flower if you want any kind of real return as cfls give you fluffy airy buds which is a waste of time. I figure if you gonna use moths of time make it worth while. Go to ebay I just saw bunch of 400 watt and 1000 watt hps ballast from 14 bucks to 59 bucks.Just get that a bulb and your good.

i am currently using regular shoplights and the pictures i posted are after 24 days? did yo experience the same slow growth on your grows FilthyFletch?

No I used 2 sets of the 4 foots florescent shop lights and usually have a foot plant in about 30-40 days from seed and a foot plant from clone in about 2 weeks with those. I use moisture control miracle grow in 5 gallon buckets.

im using 2, 18 inch lights positioned right over 2 plants. (im growing four right now). im using a forfard soil mix which is bio organic it has a peat moss, perlite manure, limestone, brown peat and a natural wetting agent.

yea i did. thanks alot for posting so quick. im very excited and impatient i want my ladies growing to their full potential.

i wouldn't recommend shop lights flouros to veg.........you are much better off going with CFLs.......even better with MH/HPS of course

I use shop lights for germ and veg. 4x60watt. Last update in my journal has day 21. I'll be updating today as well.
