plant growing under water

That is funny that is happened but not sure why everyone is so amazed that a plant will grow under water? If it had enough lighting and air being pumped into the water there's no reason a seedling couldn't survive under water for 2-3 weeks. It will eventually run out of stored nutrients and die and would never reach maturity to flower. Not trying to be a downer, but just pointing out that it's not an anomally and a lot of growers start their seeds in a cup of water so this is actually pretty common.

I don't think anyone was "Amazed". We all know all a plant needs is light, water and oxygen.. It's not like we thought we witnessed something that goes against our understanding of growing..
It's just cool to see, and everyone here knows why it grew, nobody was "amazed".

The closest thing was jdizzle22 saying "I'm amazed it hasn't drowned yet! Definitely will be following this thread.". He wasn't amazed it grew, he was amazed it had enough oxygen.
Most of the comments were bang on, calling it auqaponics and DWC.. I think you're blowing it out of proportion..

I wasn't even talking about the OP... look at the post before mine. Obviously you didn't read every single post like I did. BTW the plants dead so no point in following the thread to see how the plant does.. lol

Yeah, I read all the posts, I was one of the first to comment, and have been following it since.. I still haven't seen anyone amazed..

The post before yours? "Just goes to show how strong and amazingly hard to kill these plants are"
Again, not amazed.. And even if you would consider this guy saying "Just goes to show how strong and amazingly hard to kill these plants are!" equals "I am amazed!" he didn't post till after your original post.

I say fawkin pitch some more seeds in there and let it happen again. I wonder if it could live long enough to get to the surface and continue growing.. :-D

i bet he could pitch a handfull in there and it wouldnt happen again. it was weird how just one seed got in the right spot to get its roots sucked up into the bubbler and actualy grow. i suppose i could get him to try and manipulate the seeds into place in another tank where the fish couldnt eat them or the seedlings and see what happends. its worth a shot. i will keep this thred updated

thats pretty crazy im amazed that it even grew what happened to over watering a plant i wonder if it would do it again
