Plant Emergency Question

Ok is my plant on the edge of dying? the top stem is brown bt the bottom is perfectly fine...and also i ve been puttin it outside in the day for light and fresh air and i bring it in at night cuz it gets really cold over here...is tht ok to do bcuz it to me looks better and more leaves are sprouting...and its also gettin a stronger scent..so am i good or am i a plant killa...? Im really tryin to keep it alive though..bt idk everythin or how to take care of it...so plz help n give me some advice...

yeah, what youre doing is fine, but id trim off the dead or dying part. if you leave it, it could spread to the other healthy parts of the plant.

Does it matter how i cut the leaves off..cuz someone told me you have to clip em a certain way or else the whole plant dies...
