train wreck

i planted a seed and after two weeks it sprouted but then it died. what could i be doing wrong with this? i had regular soil that was prepackaged in a pot already. i watered it once every three days and left it outside during 6 pm we put it in the shade. why did it die, what am i doing wrong?
