Plant Deficiency Diagnosis

Hi guys, Happy New Year. I am in need of some help figuring out what is going on with my auto flowers lower fan leaves. Started at the bottom of plant and is slowly moving upward. I decided not to LST for my first grow not looking to get maximum yield, just trying to get to a harvest. Being a newbie I killed my first 2 little sprouts but learned a lot from trial and error. On these plants I had some stunting, over watering and under watering issues, some Nute deficiencies and Nute burn. I am trying to figure out what is happening to the leafs. After alot of research it could be a lack of manganese, potassium, PH issues so on and so on. Just looking to see if anyone can figure this out. Thanks

- OG Kush Auto Flower in week 7 on left
- Blueberry Auto Flower in week 6 on right
- 3x2x5 grow tent
- Viparspectra 600w light. At max height (actual wattage 260 )
- Inline fan with filter
- 2 gallon pots
- Cana Coco Coir
- GiaiaGreen 4-4-4 and 2-8-4 nutrients
- PH R/O water to 6.2-6.5 with small amount of molasses

its a old leave ... just focus on the new growth
in your case all seems nice

Thanks for this valuable information greatly appreciated!

Sorry to be a d-bag but how can you think that guys like me can help you figure out your plant problems with pics like that?

Grab pics when the blurple light is off with the flash on your phone/camera. We need true colour to help with diagnosis.

I use a 20mp Nikon digi cam that has manual white balance so I can get true colour pics under any light. No GPS BS in it's EXIF files either.

They don't look too sick yet but if they don't green up soon it may be terminal. ;)

I'm not an expert but I grow in Coco coir so I'll give you my opinion. Ph should be closer to 5.8 IMO and you should be adding Cal-mg since you're using RO water. I rinse and buffer coco as well but that is up to you since Canna Coco says their medium is already rinsed and buffered.
Check the attached chart for hydro and you'll see that 5.8 is a good target to make sure all nutrients can be absorbed.

ph5.8 for the veg stage and around 6.0-6.2 in bloom .. depends on the system . if its active hydro(in this cas we must simulate ph fluctuations from 5.8 to 6.3 during the week then putting it back to 5.8 or passive hydro .. with a substrate that dry out between watering, which allow to cover all the 5.8-6.3 spectrum

coco coir + molasses would be my guess of the problem
please post pictures under normal water

Even with the poor hue it looks like a mag def to me but as somebody said above, it's old growth so I wouldn't go nuts over it. Cal-mag in the mix will help but just make sure to lower the other stuff you are already using because you are already a little too hot.

Thanks for the replies gents. I have been adding Cal mag to the watering for the last 3 weeks in small amounts I forgot to add that in. For PH wise because it is in organic dry amendments does the PH need to be higher for the microbes?

Now that I can see clearly you just need to pinch off those couple of bad leaves and carry on.

The rest of the plant looks incredibly healthy with very minor nute burn showing.

Pretty normal for a plant to begin using up stored nutrients in old fan leaves at this stage so removal is optional. I'd snip off the bad bits and let the plant suck up what's left.

This late in flowering I'd feed it some Epsom salts for the extra sulfur which helps produce more resin and is the 'secret' ingredient in most bud boosters. Some ascorbic acid, Vit. C, citric acid, Zn and B1 wouldn't hurt either. I just picked up 100g of citric acid at the drug store yesterday and fed my 21 day 12/12 girl all of the above. She's doing poorly compared to your girl so hoping to perk her up. Not a half hour ago I added almost another gal of RO water to force some runoff for testing. pH 6.7 @ 712ppm so in a couple days I'm going to give her a decent feed Lucas Formula style with a good shot of Big Bud. Actually I think she could use a little more N so will use Mega Crop for the nutes. Keeping the CO2 around 1000+ too.

You're looking pretty good as far as I can see.

Thanks for the info, I now know to post pics in regular lighting which does make a lot of sense. What amount of epsoms salt should be used?

A tsp/gal is a nice safe level. I use MSM to boost sulfur the last few weeks. No worries about too much Mg tho it's mostly not a big deal at the later stages of flowering. Can get MSM at most drug stores as it's a supplement for arthritis relief. A few 1000mg caps in a gal is a nice dose and it's really hard to OD your plants on S.
