Wow thanks man highly appreciated all your info and input all of it's being stored and put to good use. And I think I'm going to buy some super soil soon it's pretty pricey but I think it's worth it right? Another question my roots are turning brown from the taller one well they are brown but not slimy like root rot so it's already time for a res change I was thinking about going to water only for the cycle or something to try to get the roots back to white or normal color also maybe it could help the little one grow and maybe heal them both all in all?
I dont know about hydro but in soil if your roots start to brown you can mix a little hydrogen peroxide in your water regiment i use like a cap full for a 1 gallon jug of water bad part in organic soil it kills all the good bacteria in the soil. and dont buy a super soil make your own, get ya a big bag of FFOF or Happy Frog both are great soils, and then ament them mix in a few cups of espoma tomato tone some kelp meal some worm castiings and about 5 or 6 cups of perlite and some dolomite lime(about a half cup to stabilize ph) and mix this all in a big tupper ware tub water it down real good throw the lid on it and let it sit for a month or so opening it once a week and mixing it up, there are some great organic soil recepis out there here are a couple i have saved the top one is what im growing in now....
-4 gallons* Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil
-2 1/2 quarts* Chunky Perlite (soil already has a good bit of perlite in it)
-1 tablespoon* Hi-Cal lime (figured it would be a bit of a PH buffer in addition the FFOF Oyster Shells, but didn't want to go overboard)
-2 quarts* Earth Worm Castings (Provide bacteria and help supplement Nitrogen production for the plants)
-1/4cup* Espoma Tomato Tone 3-4-6 (mainly to provide a little extra N-P-K across the board)
-1/2cup* Algamin Kelp Meal 1-0-2 (mainly for trace elements)
-1/4cup*Espoma Greensand (mainly for water retention as I added extra perlite).
This^^soil mix I currently have sitting in a 5 gallon grow bag, but I've yet to moisten it, until I can add:
-1 quart Gia Green Glacial Rock Dust.
After adding the rock dust to the soil, I'll water it down, let it sit for a month and then consider it a job!
2nd Recipe
