Planning next grow help please!

Ok I'm planning my second grow, my first one is still in progress. I need to know a few things so this time it will turn out better than this one has so far. First lets start with soil. I want to make my own mix but I need to know what is a good mix for 2 plants. Also I what is the best sites for buying garden supplies online such as grow bags and organic nutes. If I can get these at any store such as home depot or lowes that would be awesome. Anyone with advice on wehre to start please give me some advice. Thanks!

In the process of building a fixture that will hold 12 26 watt cfls the will be interchanged for veg and flower. I'mg going to house this in a 22" aluminum water heater drip pan. If i place this fixture directly over my plant and have white paint or mylar on the surrounding walls will that be a sufficient amount of light to get a decent yeild?

12 bulbs for 22" area? is that correct? isn't it a little bit overkill? if so 8-10 bulbs too be would be fine I guess!

of course don't take my word, crawl among grows around here to see what people usually do and what yeld they get :) C ya

i have a total of 5 lights for 4 plants (one flowering 3 clones) they work just fine...that being said im sure more lights would work better but 8-10 still sounds a bit much i think about 3-4 per plant once it gets about 10 inches tall, before that just use one its strong enough

Sounds sweet! I have 20 23-27 watt bulbs in a 1foot by 2 foot area and it has been kicking ass for the past year. If you can control the heat why not put more bulbs? Works great with micro SOG and/or LST... probably SCROG to but I havent tried it. My veg is 250 watts for bout foot and half square and flower is 500 watts (give or take 10 watts) for a lil over 2 square feet I run a shit ton of comp fans and it is AWESOME! Thanks man! I'm mplanning on LSTing it i'm in the middle of my firsts grow right now and I topped it and its looking pretty healthy considering. I cant stand for things to be all jumbled up in the grow room so I've gotta build a fixture for the lights i'm a little ocd lol

This may be a stupid question but I need to know b/c I burnt the shit outta my first plant by feeding too early..So how can I tell when my plant is ready to start feeding?

ok mine has 9 blades on it now but i'm still burning everytime i feed I think its the food i'm using its super high in nitrogen so it may be too much for it

well its hard to tell in dirt i do hydro, but i know 2 things for sure, dirt already has nutrients, also it holds the nutes you put in it, not all but enough to matter, when mine hit 5 i use 1/4 strength, every 2 weeks i go up by 1/4 dose untill i reach 3/4, i never go above that, only resulted in burn for me

I figured out I should have flushed it before I started nuting to get the nutes in the soil already out. But I repotted in mg moisture control and flushed it this time so I'm about to start my bloom nutes on my first plant hope it goes well!

good luck, post some pics soon if you have any questions on male or female, i know it can be kinda stressful not really knowing what they are at first and not knowing the first signs

most of your lights are too far away, its going to stretch like crazy, they should all be about 1-2 inches away

They were only about 3-4 inches away at the most but I moved them closer last night. I'm afraid its going to get to big for me b/c its growing like crazy right now.
