Yeah I'd have to do same, but getting started has upfront cost he may not wanna spend
Well I feel I'm already going for budget friendly gear not including the light so I think escaping a higher price is out of the question. Like I said I want to do it fairly right but not get all this high tech stuff right out of the gate not being experienced in indoor growing. On here to get a better understanding of what is needed by the pros. Do you guys have a realistic budget?

About 160$ for pre built quantum boards with driver or cmh Amazon. I'm not gonna point you at inferior products to save money on now to replace the next grow or two from now. One and done it.

Last 3x3 tent I bought on Amazon was 27$ delivered. You gotta tweak that search button and sort options daily.

Hydro stores are notorious for over charging and will devour your budget on a few items. But feel free to support local shops if you choose though.

Good luck on your journey.

I think you're very close. My prices are USD but yeah, this is what I paid for my 2*4 set up
59$ tent
139$ inline fan
45$ carbon filter
16$ big bag of coarse perlite
21$ Coco coir
8$ Dr earth soil
55$ 120 1 gallon nursery pots
221$ 11 f series strips + matching heatsinks
62$ hlg 150h 24b driver
50$-80$ gear to build frame, bolt lights, wire driver to lights etc
8$ megacrop
20$ hygrometer+temp
15$ timer
That's all i can think of right now, i bought like 50 Samsung lights so i got a bulk deal, alot cheaper.
That's all i can think of at the moment, I'll add more if i remember

I like it except the 1gals. Even for a 56 day cycle, no veg, clone perpetual, they're small and root circling could be a real issue late flower IMO of course.

The smallest I can get away with are 6.5L square bato pots which are 1.5 gal ish and awesome for SoG since they are 7.5"x7.5"and can run wall to wall in square spaces. They are pretty rooted at the end of 63 days when I pull them.

Thanks for sharing.
Good luck and keep growing. ;-)

This is a 2x2 with 4 strains all from seed, top once veg for a week or 2 then flip
I do 2:1:.50
Soil: Coco:perlite
I was shooting for root bound.
I feel like they grow very well this way.
Water hard once til top inch is dry then repeat.
You could grow 16+ in there.
Probably going to get 14-20 grams per plant.
If they get as fat as my last grow, i may get real lucky and hit an oz on one or two of these

Just noticed you said 1.5 lol
Good shit

Yeap. I guess 35-50g on the big ones. I just pulled 15oz dry off 2 clones outside that vegged for 3 weeks and flowered for 60. Bugs ain't no joke outside though. #Ruthless

.My inside SoG is 35g each plant when it's popping.

did you not buy an nutes or ph solutions? That right now I'm finding the most confusing as do I need this? I think I may need to watch the ph levels as I know I have hard water at home.

For me.....
(Examples only. Not pushing any brand or model)

Ph pen. Must have.

TDS meter. Must have.

Calibration solutions 4 and 7. For ph pen.

Bro I got a closet full of nutes and sheet from past years. Wasted lotta cash on bullsheet marketing.. I use maxibloom for a few years now as a base then stack supplements on top of it, to the ec/ppm I need that feeding.

My outside crop nutes this year was megacrops free sample. Got me 80% thru then I went proven with MB and pk 13/14 with a splash of silica, ca:mg and a diy sweet raw mix, I made from a recipe I found here.

Outside I really didn't pH or ec mixes unless I had an oh sheet moment when I was adding and mixing nutes and needed to cut it with tap.

pH and TDS/EC meter is almost mandatory inside using synthetics.

I use bluelab ppm pen. Most awesome sheet ever because it withstands my abuse.

Dunno if you splurged for lighting yet. Consider looking for a deal on your next lighting while you are rocking it with that 600w. :peace:
I was patient and picked up these used 315w verticals for $200. Ushio bulbs.

You know, I never thought about virtical lights. That's awesome. Will keep an eye out. I'm actually trying to decide if a 4x4 space makes much more sense to me or not.

Just to clarify, the bulbs are vertical in the hood vs horizontal. I know there are guys doing vertical grows, but I'm doing old school overhead. :eyesmoke:

CMH - This is a killer kit.
Remote ballast, Vertical, Philips bulb, 3yr ballast warranty.

I run 2 of these over a 4x4.
It takes the same amount of time to flower under these as it does the cheap LED. The yield higher but more importantly better quality.

Volume measurement
2 cups soil
1 cup Coco coir
1/2 cup coarse perlite
I still need to do research on what soil I should use to start and if I should use a mix of some kind like you do. Im trying to do things simple till I get some experience under my belt.

I think I first started looking at LEDs as I was worried about power consumption. Basically every light in my house is led but id taher not cheap out and do things right the first way. For $200 for a used light from a friend, I think thats a pretty decent score.

The light is cool if that's your options. Don't forget the operating costs involved.
New lamps, electric bill, ballast dies, cooling the space(s). Outter room heat management etc. +60$ a month added on the bill.

Soil on a budget that you can run without modding? Sunshine mix with mycos sold at Home Depot for 24$ a bale, enough to fill a 32gal trash can. You can run it out the package no tweaking.

I buy that and just add rockdust, kelp, worm casting's, orgeonizimXL, lime as a base for my outside and inside. It can go pure organic or synthetic from there.
I cook it all summer in cans outside and rotate on reloads.

Soil that has served it's purpose for years is tossed into the yard for the turf.
