Planning a new 10 unit RDWC grow and have some lighting, setup, nutrient questions

Hows it going everyone? I'm going to be starting a 10 unit with control bucket and rez RDWC grow in the next month or so and have been tossing around design ideas, but as ive gotten closer to the actual building day i've had some change or mind and now i cant make my mind up. Ive been growing in soil using 3 gal pots. I have been having alot of issues with spider mites despite my best efforts. I have been forced to use commercial grade insecticide and for now its holding them at bay, but I have grown very tired of spending more time trying to keep the bugs away then acutally focusing on the plants themselves and having my harvest always small due to the problems. Which is why i plan to switch to RDWC. My first grow was a basic DWC with a 400w hps/mh and i did great so im hoping to have repeat success, also ive read and seen alot of information stating that mites arent as drawn to water systems as they are soil, so im hoping a system change will fix the problem.

One of the main issues im having is deciding on my lighting. At the moment I have a 600w system with an aircooled hood and MH/HPS which i use for vegging and early flowering, I then switch it out for a 1000w super HPS bulb to finish them off. Now this may sound good to some people but im just not seeing the results for the amount of power im using and cant afford to keep using this set up. This leads me to my first couple question.

- Should I just switch to the RDWC and not purchase and aditional lighting and continue using this set up?

- Should I purchase some aditional lighting, and switch to the RDWC ( this is what i think i should do)

If i do purchase additional lighting what should it be?
( I was thinking of getting another or possibly even 2 more 600w setups OR possibly making the switch to high powered CFLs)

Heres a link of the light setup i bought i would be buying one or two more of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/600W-HPS-MH-Grow-Lights-with-Dimmable-Ballast-Extra-Air-Cool-Hood-Grow-lights-/190709859364?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c67318424

If I chose to go the route of CFLs I was thinking something along these lines using probably like 10 or so with mostly red but a few blues thrown in:

And i would use this style reflector:

Now i know most people would say im crazy for considering cfls but they have come along way and i have seen some pretty sweet colas produced from this style cfl and I would be hanging them vertically rather than horizontally, from what ive read this style lamp preforms better this way. I would love to hear from some people who have used similar setups to what im planning on building im currently working on a design for the RDWC setup and will post it as soon as its done untill then im open to all opinions but please keep them civil ;)
