Planning a 4'x 8'x 6' need (LED,Fan) advice please

Good Evening everyone!

I planning on putting together a 4'x 8' x 6' tent to run a perpetual grow.

Today I ordered CloudLine T8 and a couple box fans for inside the tent. I've noticed the reviews on the 8" model to be not as good as the 6" (mainly complaints about noise) would a 6" be enough or should i just stick with the 8" like I ordered?

I'm stuck on what kind of LEDs I should run. I've been keeping my eye (yes i only have one) on a HLG 550 V2 R-Spec but not to sure if thats my best bet. I realize Mars light aren't the most loved on this forum but I've also looking at TS 3000.

Any input would be great!

I wouldnt put a box fan in a 4x8 unless you put it on a timer or make it blow at a wall. You dont want constant wind aimed at them. Youre looking for something along the lines of that nice summer breeze you catch outside. Osculating fans are much better. These little ones are amazing for the cost. https://www.amazon.com/Holmes-Blizzard-8-Inch-Oscillating-Table/dp/B000J07RMU

Youd need 2 550s for that space. If youre at all handy and can screw some boards to heatsinks and connect some wires, you can DIY HLG stuff and get the equivalent of 2 550s for the price of 1.
The newer mars hydro and the spider farmer lights are both looking fairly promising from what ive seen so far. Both are still more expensive than DIY with HLG stuff though.

Do you think a tabletop fan as the one linked is a waste of floor space? wondering if I should finding a fan to mount off the ground would be a better option?

Would this be the kit you recommend? it seems to be the only kit I can find that states it can flower a 4'x4' space but the price isn't much of a difference ($100 less) compared HLG 550 V2

Get the t6 it runs max like 56 watts.
T8 runs 200 max.
If you need major air flow, get 2 or 3 t6's, that what I would do at least. fuck it get 4.

I have 4 of those blizzard fans mounted in the top of my tent blowing down. Drill a couple holes in the base and ziptie it to a pole upside down.
You make your own kit with they V1 boards and heatsinks. You have to order from 3 places instead of 1. All the other parts are the same.
I just helped someone earlier today and the total for 960w of HLG v1 board (each 550 only runs 480w) was right at $650

Thank you! After further review the T6 uses 40w and the T8 uses 180w. Thats a huge difference!
When you say major air flow are you under the impression that a T6 will be enough?

That's brilliant! Ill be following your footsteps. Is there a thread I should look up so you don't have to repost? Thank you for your help thus far

I had a 4*4 with only 1 t6 on out take, was fine. I added a 2*4 inline with the ducting, so I added another one for intake, regardless, each time I only had fans on level 4 of 6.

This is the same wattage as 2x 550s and the same parts as their diy kits.

960w of HLG v1 panels to two 1k hps. Thats 4 of their 240w kits.

8 V1 3000k boards You can substitute in some v2 boards if you want to mix in some 4000k but itll up your cost.

4 double heatsinks. Can spend a bit more and get triples for a bit better spread if you wanted. They come predilled with screws for the number of boards theyre meant for.

Thats $385 after 10% off code RIU10

4 240w drivers at $42 each

Around $100 in hook up/assembly/hanging supplies.

18awg solid copper hookup wire $15 each color get red and black.

2 or 4 power cord - you can wire 2x 240w drivers with one or use cheaper 18awg ones for each driver $30

wire splice $6.50 youll need 1 per power cord

wago connectors

wire basket hangers $10.00 these connect to holes in the heatsinks. 2 per heatsink.

Follow this for assembly

Perfect Thank you!

Thank you for posting this I will be ordering all part tomorrow am. Is it worth the up charge for V2 boards?
Will I still need the same amount of heatsinks if I decide to go Triple?

It depends on your needs for the light. The v1 3000K boards will rock flower, which is more important, but they wont be amazing for veg. Theyll get the job done, but 3000k isnt ideal. If you wanted something a little more balanced for veg too, you could put a V1 and V2 board in series on each driver. if you did 4 v1s and 4 v2s youd have very rounded lights for the full cycle but its an extra $100.

Thank you for taking time to explain it to me. Do you have any other recommendation for the wire basket hangers since the one posted aren't available?

Also do you feel the combos that HLG offers are worth the money? Thinking about this combo

I'd still need 4 of these correct?

Yeah if you want something other than 3000k, those will save you a few bucks on v2 boards.
They must have just run out of stock. I'm not seeing anything on amazon that's that same. You can get a bit creative with that part though. Some clips and small rope would achieve the same thing.

It's official ordered-

4x QB288 V2 & Slate 2 Double Combo
4x 14 AWG 3 Prong Power Cords
4x XLG-240-M-AB
4x 3 Pole Connector
50x Wago Conductor Lever Nuts
100 feet of 18 AWG Red Copper Wire
100 feet of 18 AWG Black Copper Wire

I also got Lux meter since I didn't have one.

Does it look like it got it all?

Thank you so much for guiding down the right path!

do you feel like heat will be an issue? My room stays at or below 70 year round.

also since I plan on cycling these plants for a perpetual harvest will one of these lights be to much for a 2’x4’ space if I ever would like to downsize?

Don't think it would physically fit would it? If it does, you got a dimmable driver, just dim it. You did not get a potentiometer if you want to be able to dim them externally from the driver, you got the -AB so you can if you want, you do not have to, just cap the wires individually

Heat wont be an issue at all imo. I have 1800w of leds and still have to use a heater to get to my desired temps.
And yeah, one of those 240w sets would rock the space. Might want to dim it a bit early on.

Damn, rocking more than me, what size space you got that in?
